When putting a time frame for the rapture taking place in biblical study there are 2 pre-dominate thoughts. The pre-tribulation period and the mid-tribulation period. We hope that most debates about the subject are always friendly. One thing that most folks do agree on is that there will be a 7 year period of time by which both these (for lack of better words) theories are based upon. The development of the week of years is in Daniel 9.
 
Our ultimate destination when the rapture takes place is of course heaven.

Mat 13:24-30 KJV Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field: (25) But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way. What yours truly has always found kind of interesting is in the fact that Jesus describes to us many mansions in the kingdom of heaven. This reminds me of the Feast of Tabernacles.

The Feast of Tabernacles is at once the general harvest festival, ḥagh he-'āṣı̄ph, and the anniversary of the beginnings of the wanderings in the wilderness (Exo_23:16; Lev_23:33; Deu_16:13-15). The Eighth Day of Assembly immediately following the last day of Tabernacles (Lev_23:36; Num_29:35; Joh_7:37) and closing the long cycle of Tishri festivals seems to have been merely a final day of rejoicing before the pilgrims returned to their homes.

The Feast of Tabernacles includes living in booths for 7 days and that is followed by a public assembly on the 8th day. It is also referred to sometimes as the feast of booths.

Another interesting concept associated with Jewish customs is the similarity of the feast of Tabernacles and the Jewish wedding. You can look up all the particulars if you wish. We will try and summarize this as briefly as we can hopefully in clarity.

In the traditions of the Jewish wedding the bride and groom establish a marriage covenant. You may have heard the name referred to as a ketubah.

 
 

They are signed according to tradition by 2 witnesses interestingly enough.

There is a waiting period of 1 year according to our research until the wedding itself takes place. At the time of the wedding the bride has a veil covering her. Once the wedding is over there is a festive period of 7 days for the wedding crowd. This is why there was so much wine at the wedding feast in Canaan. When Jesus turned the water to wine. While the festivities continue the bride remains in her chamber for the 7 day period. On the 8th day she emerges from the chamber without the veil covering her.

(48) And straightway one of them ran, and took a spunge, and filled it with vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him to drink. Heb 10:1-39 KJV For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect. (2) For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins. (3) But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year. (4) For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins. (5) Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me: (6) In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure. Joh 2:1-11 KJV And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there: (2) And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage. (3) And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine. (4) Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come. (5) His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it. (6) And there were set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins apiece. (7) Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim. (8) And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. And they bare it. (9) When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew;) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom, (10) And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now. (11) This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him.



 

A firkin is approximately 9 gallons of water. So when we understand that the celebration took place over 7 days the amount of wine makes sense. Notice there is no mention of the bride in the passage. However as we read the groom is mentioned. Perhaps she was snug in her bride chamber just as we should expect. This is what many anticipate with the rapture being hidden in our mansions or tabernacles in heaven while the 7 year tribulation takes place.

Rev 16:15 KJV Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.
