(16) And also the name of the city shall be Hamonah. Thus shall they cleanse the land. (17) And, thou son of man, thus saith the Lord GOD; Speak unto every feathered fowl, and to every beast of the field, Assemble yourselves, and come; gather yourselves on every side to my sacrifice that I do sacrifice for you, even a great sacrifice upon the mountains of Israel, that ye may eat flesh, and drink blood. (18) Ye shall eat the flesh of the mighty, and drink the blood of the princes of the earth, of rams, of lambs, and of goats, of bullocks, all of them fatlings of Bashan. Over a 7 month period the burials will take place. The amount of time involved conveys the enormous amount of casualties that will be involved. In Numbers 19 God gave instructions on handling and burial of the dead.
Something we should not overlook in what is said in the passage is that at the first of all this “all the people of the land shall bury”. This is done for 7 months by the population and then a permanent job for those who would wish it. They will continually go about the land looking for the remainder of the corpses.
Num 19:1-22 KJV And the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying, (2) This is the ordinance of the law which the LORD hath commanded, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, that they bring thee a red heifer without spot, wherein is no blemish, and upon which never came yoke: (3) And ye shall give her unto Eleazar the priest, that he may bring her forth without the camp, and one shall slay her before his face: (4) And Eleazar the priest shall take of her blood with his finger, and sprinkle of her blood directly before the tabernacle of the congregation seven times: (5) And one shall burn the heifer in his sight; her skin, and her flesh, and her blood, with her dung, shall he burn: (6) And the priest shall take cedar wood, and hyssop, and scarlet, and cast it into the midst of the burning of the heifer. (8) And he that burneth her shall wash his clothes in water, and bathe his flesh in water, and shall be unclean until the even. We started this journey through Ezekiel 39 speaking about the mountains of Israel. This passage has many points of reference such as we explored with Zechariah 12. There are direct connections to Revelation 19. We explored how Ezekiel 38:19-23 had direct connection to Revelation 16. Isaiah 18 is another chapter which also overlaps into aspects of the rapture.

(3) All ye inhabitants of the world, and dwellers on the earth, see ye, when he lifteth up an ensign on the mountains; and when he bloweth a trumpet, hear ye. (4) For so the LORD said unto me, I will take my rest, and I will consider in my dwelling place like a clear heat upon herbs, and like a cloud of dew in the heat of harvest. (5) For afore the harvest, when the bud is perfect, and the sour grape is ripening in the flower, he shall both cut off the sprigs with pruning hooks, and take away and cut down the branches. We could continue with Zechariah 14 a passage which overlaps the events here with the return of the Lord to the Mount of Olives. We will explore this in the rapture studies. There are also passages from Zephaniah and Joel. We developed some of these during our journey through Ezekiel 38. Let’s look at Joel 3.

Eze 39:12-14 KJV And seven months shall the house of Israel be burying of them, that they may cleanse the land. (13) Yea, all the people of the land shall bury them; and it shall be to them a renown the day that I shall be glorified, saith the Lord GOD. (14) And they shall sever out men of continual employment, passing through the land to bury with the passengers those that remain upon the face of the earth, to cleanse it: after the end of seven months shall they search.
Over a 7 month period the burials will take place. The amount of time involved conveys the enormous amount of casualties that will be involved. In Numbers 19 God gave instructions on handling and burial of the dead.
Something we should not overlook in what is said in the passage is that at the first of all this “all the people of the land shall bury”. This is done for 7 months by the population and then a permanent job for those who would wish it. They will continually go about the land looking for the remainder of the corpses.
Num 19:1-22 KJV And the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying, (2) This is the ordinance of the law which the LORD hath commanded, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, that they bring thee a red heifer without spot, wherein is no blemish, and upon which never came yoke: (3) And ye shall give her unto Eleazar the priest, that he may bring her forth without the camp, and one shall slay her before his face: (4) And Eleazar the priest shall take of her blood with his finger, and sprinkle of her blood directly before the tabernacle of the congregation seven times: (5) And one shall burn the heifer in his sight; her skin, and her flesh, and her blood, with her dung, shall he burn: (6) And the priest shall take cedar wood, and hyssop, and scarlet, and cast it into the midst of the burning of the heifer. (7) Then the priest shall wash his clothes, and he shall bathe his flesh in water, and afterward he shall come into the camp, and the priest shall be unclean until the even. In Ezekiel 36 a chapter related to the restoration of the nation of Israel we see a reference to the cleansing of the people. As the passage continues into chapter 37 a passage referring to the dry bones that spring back to life.Eze 36:22-38 KJV Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; I do not this for your sakes, O house of Israel, but for mine holy name's sake, which ye have profaned among the heathen, whither ye went. (23) And I will sanctify my great name, which was profaned among the heathen, which ye have profaned in the midst of them; and the heathen shall know that I am the LORD, saith the Lord GOD, when I shall be sanctified in you before their eyes. (24) For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land. (25) Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you. (26) A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. (27) And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them. (28) And ye shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; and ye shall be my people, and I will be your God. We started this journey through Ezekiel 39 speaking about the mountains of Israel. This passage has many points of reference such as we explored with Zechariah 12. There are direct connections to Revelation 19. We explored how Ezekiel 38:19-23 had direct connection to Revelation 16. Let’s look at some interesting places we find references to the great feast described above. Another passage we have explored in the course of Ezekiel 38 and 39 journey is Isaiah 34.

We could continue with Zechariah 14 a passage which overlaps the events here with the return of the Lord to the Mount of Olives. We will explore this in the rapture studies. There are also passages from Zephaniah and Joel. We developed some of these during our journey through Ezekiel 38. Let’s look at Joel 3.
