Welcome to the World of Biblical Prophecy for History and Today

This Blog is intended to help myself and others gain the best understanding of the world around us through exploration of prophetic scripture. The Bible is the text book. Through these studies we will hopefully provide understanding to both believer and unbeliever alike. The way our God and our Savior Jesus distinguish themselves in the spiritual world is through prophetic means. In other words what the Bible teaches us through fullfillment of these prophecies shows us the truth. Let's take some prophetic journeys through history and at the same time learn about the world around us today. Please try and be patient with any typographical errors as I am my own typist and my own research staff. Thanks

The Zechariah Zone 1:18-21

The Horns and the Craftsmen
More Quick Connects to Revelation

Signs of the End of the Age
Mat 24:3-14 KJV  And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?  (4)  And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.  (5)  For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.  (6)  And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.  (7)  For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.  (8)  All these are the beginning of sorrows.  (9)  Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.  (10)  And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.  (11)  And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.  (12)  And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.  (13)  But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.  (14)  And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

Jesus Foretells Destruction of Jerusalem

Luk 21:20-24 KJV  And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.  (21)  Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto.  (22)  For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.  (23)  But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people.  (24)  And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.

The Siege and Destruction of Jerusalem, by David Roberts (1850).

Many believe that the times of the Gentiles became fulfilled with the military capture of Jerusalem by Israel in the 6 day war in 1967. This passage is another one of those countdown passages. Passages which countdown to the return of the Messiah Jesus Christ. Empires which ruled the world and had direct dealings with the people of God. As we have stated many times here in our journeys there are certain things that had to take place prior to the return of the Lord.

The results of the 6 day war put the territory of Judah and Jerusalem back into Israeli control. Even before this however the nation of Israel was reborn in 1948. So now we can run down the list a little bit. We cover the subject plenty with our journeys. For the benefit a first time visit we can run down a short list.

Scroll of Book of Isaiah

The Mountain of the Lord

Isa 2:1-5 KJV  The word that Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem.  (2)  And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the LORD'S house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it.  (3)  And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.  (4)  And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.  (5)  O house of Jacob, come ye, and let us walk in the light of the LORD.

A Vision of Horns and Craftsmen

Zec 1:18-21 KJV  Then lifted I up mine eyes, and saw, and behold four hornsH7161.  (19)  And I said unto the angel that talked with me, What be these? And he answered me, These are the horns which have scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem.  (20)  And the LORD shewed me four carpentersH2796 . (21)  Then said I, What come these to do? And he spake, saying, These are the horns which have scattered Judah, so that no man did lift up his head: but these are come to fray them, to cast out the horns of the Gentiles, which lifted up their hornH7161 over the land of Judah to scatter it.

Zec 1:18 KJV  Then lifted I up mine eyes, and saw, and behold four hornsH7161

Zec 1:20  And the LORD shewed me four carpentersH2796

In Daniel chapter 2 we explored the dream of Nebuchadnezzar and the rise of kingdoms. These kingdoms represented by various what some may call precious metals. Interesting how our word study indicates that the carpenters or fabricators of such things as the metals Daniel describes to us.

There are obvious connections to 2 major books of prophecy here. The books of Revelation and Daniel. As a matter of fact we see the same Hebrew word used here in Zechariah as we studied a great deal in Daniel. That word being horn(s). The horns that were found in Daniel 7 and 8. We can also develop a study possibly another time which relates in many ways to the kings of the east in Revelation. This study may also take us all the way back to Genesis 4. Please do not think that the prophetic connections start and end with these books only. Right of the top of yours truly’s head there are places that overlap in Isaiah, Joel, Zephaniah, Obadiah just to name a quick few.

Daniel Interprets the Dream

Dan 2:31-45 KJV  Thou, O king, sawest, and behold a great image. This great image, whose brightness was excellent, stood before thee; and the form thereof was terrible.  (32)  This image's head was of fine gold, his breast and his arms of silver, his belly and his thighs of brass,  (33)  His legs of iron, his feet part of iron and part of clay.  (34)  Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces.  (35)  Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshingfloors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them: and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth.  (36)  This is the dream; and we will tell the interpretation thereof before the king.  (37)  Thou, O king, art a king of kings: for the God of heaven hath given thee a kingdom, power, and strength, and glory.  (38)  And wheresoever the children of men dwell, the beasts of the field and the fowls of the heaven hath he given into thine hand, and hath made thee ruler over them all. Thou art this head of gold.  (39)  And after thee shall arise another kingdom inferior to thee, and another third kingdom of brass, which shall bear rule over all the earth.  (40)  And the fourth kingdom shall be strong as iron: forasmuch as iron breaketh in pieces and subdueth all things: and as iron that breaketh all these, shall it break in pieces and bruise.  (41)  And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes, part of potters' clay, and part of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; but there shall be in it of the strength of the iron, forasmuch as thou sawest the iron mixed with miry clay.  (42)  And as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken.  (43)  And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay.  (44)  And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.  (45)  Forasmuch as thou sawest that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God hath made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter: and the dream is certain, and the interpretation thereof sure.

Gen 4:16-24 KJV  And Cain went out from the presence of the LORD, and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden.  (17)  And Cain knew his wife; and she conceived, and bare Enoch: and he builded a city, and called the name of the city, after the name of his son, Enoch.  (18)  And unto Enoch was born Irad: and Irad begat Mehujael: and Mehujael begat Methusael: and Methusael begat Lamech.  (19)  And Lamech took unto him two wives: the name of the one was Adah, and the name of the other Zillah.  (20)  And Adah bare Jabal: he was the father of such as dwell in tents, and of such as have cattle.  (21)  And his brother's name was Jubal: he was the father of all such as handle the harp and organ.  (22)  And Zillah, she also bare Tubalcain, an instructerH3913 of every artificerH2794 in brass and iron: and the sister of Tubalcain was Naamah.  (23)  And Lamech said unto his wives, Adah and Zillah, Hear my voice; ye wives of Lamech, hearken unto my speech: for I have slain a man to my wounding, and a young man to my hurt.  (24)  If Cain shall be avenged sevenfold, truly Lamech seventy and sevenfold.

There are many great reasons to study about Lamech the son of Cain. For our purposes here today it relates to us in the sense of Daniel’s prophecies concerning 2 descriptions of world empires in biblical history. Just to briefly mention one of the significant other studies relates to us how people before the flood were forging things from Bronze and iron and how it relates to the building of the ark in the account of the flood. Which is where every skeptic gets the ark wrong every time. God probably mentally equipped these people to build anything at all.

The 2 descriptions for those not familiar with the Daniel Extremity or other studies pertaining to Daniel come from chapters 2,4 and 7. Now these 3 chapters are not all from the book of Daniel relating to this material. However they are the most relevant we feel in this case.

Zec 1:18-21 KJV  Then lifted I up mine eyes, and saw, and behold four horns.  (19)  And I said unto the angel that talked with me, What be these? And he answered me, These are the horns which have scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem.  (20)  And the LORD shewed me four carpenters.  (21)  Then said I, What come these to do? And he spake, saying, These are the horns which have scattered Judah, so that no man did lift up his head: but these are come to fray them, to cast out the horns of the Gentiles, which lifted up their horn over the land of Judah to scatter it.

Horns and carpenters the same as kingdoms and rulers of these kingdoms. As usual we have a slight disagreement with certain commentaries. The reason being the kingdoms that they generally list are all correct in the fact they are kingdoms of biblical prophecy. However we have a slight difference when it comes to the 4 kingdoms which scattered Israel. This being a key word “scattered”.

For a couple of examples we will use one of our helpful commentaries from Albert Barnes. We do not disagree with everything these gentlemen do by any means as a matter of fact we often enlist their help with some situations. However our argument will be based on scriptural history. Let’s start with the Barnes’ commentary upon Zechariah 1:19.

Albert Barnes

Zechariah 1:19
These are the horns which have scattered - o “The four horns which scattered Judah, Israel and Jerusalem, are four nations, Babylonians, Medes and Persians, Macedonians and Romans;

Another commentary is the F.B. Meyers

Zechariah 1:18-21
THE REDEMPTION OF JERUSALEM
The work of Temple-building had ceased for fifteen years and the new resolve to arise and build might meet with a similar fate. But the four horns met with four carpenters. For Babylon the carpenter was Cyrus; for Persia, Alexander the Great; for Greece, the Roman; for Rome, the Gaul. No weapon that is formed to thwart God’s purposes can prosper. The young man with the measuring line embodied the new spirit animating the returned exiles. But God was intending to give more prosperity and increase than could be contained in walls.

One of the reasons we have a little awkwardness with this list is because there is no carpenter named that overtakes Rome. Rome more or less went into a decay and fell apart. However we do have a list of 4 carpenters that can be included by name. First however let’s state our case that the Media Persian empire may be replaced with the Assyrian empire.

Our first reason for stating this is that the Medes and Persians took over the Babylonian empire. The Babylonians sacked Jerusalem, destroyed the temple and exiled the biggest percentage of the population. The Medes and Persians are actually the kingdom which started to allow the rebuilding of the city of Jerusalem and Zerubbabel’s temple. However we have direct evidence in the book of 2nd Kings that the Assyrians or Syria as we know today exiled and tried to replace the population of the 10 lost tribes.

The Fall of Israel

2Ki 17:6 KJV  In the ninth year of Hoshea the king of Assyria took Samaria, and carried Israel away into Assyria, and placed them in Halah and in Habor by the river of Gozan, and in the cities of the Medes.

Exile Because of Idolatry

2Ki 17:7-23 KJV  For so it was, that the children of Israel had sinned against the LORD their God, which had brought them up out of the land of Egypt, from under the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and had feared other gods,  (8)  And walked in the statutes of the heathen, whom the LORD cast out from before the children of Israel, and of the kings of Israel, which they had made.  (9)  And the children of Israel did secretly those things that were not right against the LORD their God, and they built them high places in all their cities, from the tower of the watchmen to the fenced city.  (10)  And they set them up images and groves in every high hill, and under every green tree:  (11)  And there they burnt incense in all the high places, as did the heathen whom the LORD carried away before them; and wrought wicked things to provoke the LORD to anger:  (12)  For they served idols, whereof the LORD had said unto them, Ye shall not do this thing.  (13)  Yet the LORD testified against Israel, and against Judah, by all the prophets, and by all the seers, saying, Turn ye from your evil ways, and keep my commandments and my statutes, according to all the law which I commanded your fathers, and which I sent to you by my servants the prophets.  (14)  Notwithstanding they would not hear, but hardened their necks, like to the neck of their fathers, that did not believe in the LORD their God.  (15)  And they rejected his statutes, and his covenant that he made with their fathers, and his testimonies which he testified against them; and they followed vanity, and became vain, and went after the heathen that were round about them, concerning whom the LORD had charged them, that they should not do like them.  (16)  And they left all the commandments of the LORD their God, and made them molten images, even two calves, and made a grove, and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served Baal.  (17)  And they caused their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire, and used divination and enchantments, and sold themselves to do evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger.  (18)  Therefore the LORD was very angry with Israel, and removed them out of his sight: there was none left but the tribe of Judah only.  (19)  Also Judah kept not the commandments of the LORD their God, but walked in the statutes of Israel which they made.  (20)  And the LORD rejected all the seed of Israel, and afflicted them, and delivered them into the hand of spoilers, until he had cast them out of his sight.  (21)  For he rent Israel from the house of David; and they made Jeroboam the son of Nebat king: and Jeroboam drave Israel from following the LORD, and made them sin a great sin.  (22)  For the children of Israel walked in all the sins of Jeroboam which he did; they departed not from them;  (23)  Until the LORD removed Israel out of his sight, as he had said by all his servants the prophets. So was Israel carried away out of their own land to Assyria unto this day.

Assyria Resettles Samaria

2Ki 17:24-26 KJV  And the king of Assyria brought men from Babylon, and from Cuthah, and from Ava, and from Hamath, and from Sepharvaim, and placed them in the cities of Samaria instead of the children of Israel: and they possessed Samaria, and dwelt in the cities thereof.  (25)  And so it was at the beginning of their dwelling there, that they feared not the LORD: therefore the LORD sent lions among them, which slew some of them.  (26)  Wherefore they spake to the king of Assyria, saying, The nations which thou hast removed, and placed in the cities of Samaria, know not the manner of the God of the land: therefore he hath sent lions among them, and, behold, they slay them, because they know not the manner of the God of the land.

So as we can easily see here in these passages that the Assyrian empire scattered and tried to go a little farther and actually replace the population of the northern tribes. However as we read through the completion of the passage we see that the population of Judah (Jerusalem) eventually fell as well.

Shortly we will list the 6 known biblical empires and the carpenters as we  see things. Again you are certainly welcome to take issue with what we are saying here. However the scripture is our foundation for making the statements.

First however we will list some verses from Daniel to properly demonstrate what we are saying about the word horns as foundations of power.

Dan 8:3  Then I lifted up mine eyes, and saw, and, behold, there stood before the river a ram which had two hornsH7161: and the two horns were high; but one was higher than the other, and the higher came up lastH314

If you are familiar with our studies concerning the Acharon or the last generation facing the east then you may be familiar with the rise of the Persian empire. The Persian empire not as Daniel knew it but as it may be the horn the bigger horn of the Media-Persian empire coming up in the last days again.

Dan 8:5  And as I was considering, behold, an he goat came from the west on the face of the whole earth, and touched not the ground: and the goat had a notable hornH7161 between his eyes.

This of course being Alexander the Great and the Grecian empire.

Dan 8:6  And he came to the ram that had two hornsH7161 , which I had seen standing before the river, and ran unto him in the fury of his power.

Dan 8:7  And I saw him come close unto the ram, and he was moved with choler against him, and smote the ram, and brake his two hornsH7161: and there was no power in the ram to stand before him, but he cast him down to the ground, and stamped upon him: and there was none that could deliver the ram out of his hand.

We can only ask that you trust us with these examples that the rest of the horns throughout Daniel 8 are the same word study. Oh well in case you do not trust us we will list them anyway.

Dan 8:8  Therefore the he goat waxed very great: and when he was strong, the great hornH7161 was broken; and for it came up four notable ones toward the four winds of heaven.

Dan 8:9  And out of one of them came forth a little hornH7161, which waxed exceeding great, toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the pleasant land.

Dan 8:20  The ram which thou sawest having two hornsH7161 are the kings of Media and Persia.

Dan 8:21  And the rough goat is the king of Grecia: and the great horn 7161
that is between his eyes is the first king.

For someone who may not be aware we will list the empires of biblical prophecy since the horns are representative to 4 of the 6 we know for sure.

Egypt- Pharaoh considered to be deity by being the son of the sun god and is called Egypt until this day.

Syria(Assyria) Their rulers also had very high opinions of themselves as in deity and often chose their own gods to worship and there were many in the Assyrian empire. As a matter of fact the overthrow of this empire involved the worship of at least 3 different “gods”.

Babylon We know from the Daniel extremity the leaders were considered pretty much next to gods and goddesses. We know the boastful antics of Nebuchadnezzar. Nebuchadnezzar the carpenter which removes Assyria. We now call this territory Iraq.

Media Persia- Iran The so called psychics of the day made king Darius a deified personality in order to take out their competition. The competition being Daniel and the other 3 Hebrews Hananiah, Azariah and Mishael. Iran as we know things today. Cyrus the Persian defeats Babylon.

Greece Alexander the Great declared himself king and god and defeats the Persians.

Rome Emperor Domitian if memory serves me correct claimed also to be king and god

Possibly United Nations  or the EU European Union some have also suggested the Ottoman Turkish empire. We do not know for sure just yet there are several possibilities. However many among different sects of Islam are anticipating the arrival of the Al Mahdi.

Of the 7 not the 7th as many people profess of the possibilities we should be taking a hard look at Iran

The Great Prostitute and the Beast

Rev 17:1-14 KJV  And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters:  (2)  With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication.  (3)  So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.  (4)  And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication:  (5)  And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.  (6)  And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration.  (7)  And the angel said unto me, Wherefore didst thou marvel? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and ten horns.  (8)  The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.  (9)  And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth.  (10)  And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space.  (11)  And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition.  (12)  And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.  (13)  These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.  (14)  These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.

As we pointed out in verse 11 the 8th is of the 7 not the 7th as many people have taught.

A seven-headed leopard-like beast, Apocalypse 13, Beatus Escoria

The First Beast

Rev 13:1-11 KJV  And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.  (2)  And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.  (3)  And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.  (4)  And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?  (5)  And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.  (6)  And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.  (7)  And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.  (8)  And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.  (9)  If any man have an ear, let him hear.  (10)  He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.  (11)  And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.

We developed a lot of this in the Daniel Extremity journeys. However it is perhaps becoming more important than ever we get all the connections out there.

Daniel's Vision of the Four Beasts
Dan 7:1-8 KJV  In the first year of Belshazzar king of Babylon Daniel had a dream and visions of his head upon his bed: then he wrote the dream, and told the sum of the matters.  (2)  Daniel spake and said, I saw in my vision by night, and, behold, the four winds of the heaven strove upon the great sea.  (3)  And four great beasts came up from the sea, diverse one from another.  (4)  The first was like a lion, and had eagle's wings: I beheld till the wings thereof were plucked, and it was lifted up from the earth, and made stand upon the feet as a man, and a man's heart was given to it.  (5)  And behold another beast, a second, like to a bear, and it raised up itself on one side, and it had three ribs in the mouth of it between the teeth of it: and they said thus unto it, Arise, devour much flesh.  (6)  After this I beheld, and lo another, like a leopard, which had upon the back of it four wings of a fowl; the beast had also four heads; and dominion was given to it.  (7)  After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns.  (8)  I considered the hornsH7162, and, behold, there came up among them another little hornH7162, before whom there were three of the first hornsH7162 plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.

Perhaps it’s very appropriate to find ourselves exactly where we are in our journeys. We are dealing with a passage of scripture that takes us into a journey not too much different than that of Daniel. That’s another reason Zechariah in our opinion around here is as much a major prophet as the rest. We do not consider any prophets OT or NT to be major or minor. They are prophets selected by God and marry us to the covenant we have with Jesus.

The Example of Christ

Rom 15:1-7 KJV  We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves.  (2)  Let every one of us please his neighbour for his good to edification.  (3)  For even Christ pleased not himself; but, as it is written, The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell on me.  (4)  For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.  (5)  Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus:  (6)  That ye may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.  (7)  Wherefore receive ye one another, as Christ also received us to the glory of God.
Saint Paul arrested by the Romans

Christ the Hope of Jews and Gentiles

Rom 15:8-13 KJV  Now I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made unto the fathers:  (9)  And that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy; as it is written, For this cause I will confess to thee among the Gentiles, and sing unto thy name.  (10)  And again he saith, Rejoice, ye Gentiles, with his people.  (11)  And again, Praise the Lord, all ye Gentiles; and laud him, all ye people.  (12)  And again, Esaias saith, There shall be a root of Jesse, and he that shall rise to reign over the Gentiles; in him shall the Gentiles trust.  (13)  Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.

Paul the Minister to the Gentiles

Rom 15:14-21 KJV  And I myself also am persuaded of you, my brethren, that ye also are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge, able also to admonish one another.  (15)  Nevertheless, brethren, I have written the more boldly unto you in some sort, as putting you in mind, because of the grace that is given to me of God,  (16)  That I should be the minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God, that the offering up of the Gentiles might be acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Ghost.  (17)  I have therefore whereof I may glory through Jesus Christ in those things which pertain to God.  (18)  For I will not dare to speak of any of those things which Christ hath not wrought by me, to make the Gentiles obedient, by word and deed,  (19)  Through mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God; so that from Jerusalem, and round about unto Illyricum, I have fully preached the gospel of Christ.  (20)  Yea, so have I strived to preach the gospel, not where Christ was named, lest I should build upon another man's foundation:  (21)  But as it is written, To whom he was not spoken of, they shall see: and they that have not heard shall understand.

The Righteous Reign of the Branch

Isa 11:1-12 KJV  And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots:  (2)  And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD;  (3)  And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears:  (4)  But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked.  (5)  And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins.  (6)  The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.  (7)  And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.  (8)  And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice' den.  (9)  They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.  (10)  And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious.  (11)  And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.  (12)  And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.

Rev 4:1-11 KJV  After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter.  (2)  And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne.  (3)  And he that sat was to look upon like a jasper and a sardine stone: and there was a rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald.  (4)  And round about the throne were four and twenty seats: and upon the seats I saw four and twenty elders sitting, clothed in white raiment; and they had on their heads crowns of gold.  (5)  And out of the throne proceeded lightnings and thunderings and voices: and there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God.  (6)  And before the throne there was a sea of glass like unto crystal: and in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne, were four beasts full of eyes before and behind.  (7)  And the first beast was like a lion, and the second beast like a calf, and the third beast had a face as a man, and the fourth beast was like a flying eagle.  (8)  And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.  (9)  And when those beasts give glory and honour and thanks to him that sat on the throne, who liveth for ever and ever,  (10)  The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying,  (11)  Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

Rev 16:15 KJV  Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.
