Welcome to the World of Biblical Prophecy for History and Today

This Blog is intended to help myself and others gain the best understanding of the world around us through exploration of prophetic scripture. The Bible is the text book. Through these studies we will hopefully provide understanding to both believer and unbeliever alike. The way our God and our Savior Jesus distinguish themselves in the spiritual world is through prophetic means. In other words what the Bible teaches us through fullfillment of these prophecies shows us the truth. Let's take some prophetic journeys through history and at the same time learn about the world around us today. Please try and be patient with any typographical errors as I am my own typist and my own research staff. Thanks

Perilous Times

According to Scripture
Corruption, Life and Death

The Parable of the Lost Sheep

Mat 18:10-14 KJV  Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven.  (11)  For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost.  (12)  How think ye? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray?  (13)  And if so be that he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoiceth more of that sheep, than of the ninety and nine which went not astray.  (14)  Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish.

Jesus Is Lord of the Sabbath

Mat 12:1-8 KJV  At that time Jesus went on the sabbath day through the corn; and his disciples were an hungred, and began to pluck the ears of corn, and to eat.  (2)  But when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto him, Behold, thy disciples do that which is not lawful to do upon the sabbath day.  (3)  But he said unto them, Have ye not read what David did, when he was an hungred, and they that were with him;  (4)  How he entered into the house of God, and did eat the shewbread, which was not lawful for him to eat, neither for them which were with him, but only for the priests?  (5)  Or have ye not read in the law, how that on the sabbath days the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless?  (6)  But I say unto you, That in this place is one greater than the temple.  (7)  But if ye had known what this meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless.  (8)  For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day.

A Man with a Withered Hand

Mat 12:9-14 KJV  And when he was departed thence, he went into their synagogue:  (10)  And, behold, there was a man which had his hand withered. And they asked him, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath days? that they might accuse him.  (11)  And he said unto them, What man shall there be among you, that shall have one sheep, and if it fall into a pit on the sabbath day, will he not lay hold on it, and lift it out?  (12)  How much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days.  (13)  Then saith he to the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it forth; and it was restored whole, like as the other.  (14)  Then the Pharisees went out, and held a council against him, how they might destroy him.

No One Knows That Day and Hour

Mat 24:36-39 KJV  But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.  (37)  But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.  (38)  For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,  (39)  And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

Godlessness in the Last Days

2Ti 3:1-9 KJV  This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.  (2)  For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,  (3)  Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,  (4)  Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;  (5)  Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.  (6)  For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,  (7)  Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.  (8)  Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.  (9)  But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as theirs also was.

We have picked these passages in particular to open our journey. Our first passage from Matthew 18 focuses on the subject of children and life. As we have stated before the angels of these little ones behold the Father’s face in Heaven. This is some pretty special company to the Lord as very few people have gotten that close to Him. So for the sake of any and all people or politicians we will explore the concept of life in the scripture again and again if needed.

America as we hear now is responsible for 50 million babies plus dying in the womb. These are numbers that came after the 1973 stupidity that declared the best and most innocent of all human beings the unborn child has no rights. We do not get tired around here of reminding the world that there are no such words as fetus and embryo in scripture. There is merely the child. There is always forgiveness as well as God is already seeking those out there who may be struggling after or before an abortion. The only thing we as people have to do is meet Him on His terms. Amen

Mat 18:10-11 KJV  Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven. (11)  For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost.

The passage also conveys the following about any one who would harm a child.
Mat 18:6 KJV  But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.

While we seem to be having a spike in the amount of would be saviors in the U.S. alone a passage which supports Matthew 18 also conveys its own message.

Who Is the Greatest?

Mar 9:33-37 KJV  And he came to Capernaum: and being in the house he asked them, What was it that ye disputed among yourselves by the way?  (34)  But they held their peace: for by the way they had disputed among themselves, who should be the greatest.  (35)  And he sat down, and called the twelve, and saith unto them, If any man desire to be first, the same shall be last of all, and servant of all.  (36)  And he took a child, and set him in the midst of them: and when he had taken him in his arms, he said unto them,  (37)  Whosoever shall receive one of such children in my name, receiveth me: and whosoever shall receive me, receiveth not me, but him that sent me.

What we have now in the U.S. are certain states such as Virginia and New York that are apparently going to allow termination of a child once it’s been born. Many idiots even favor letting the child be born and placed aside to possibly die. If you do not believe us just look up the Virginia governor and his comments on the subject.

Hey everybody if you do not want to get pregnant or have a child don’t. Just practice the unthinkable not having sex at all. A lot of babies have gone out in the trash. Those that were not sold for whatever was left after the abortion.

Everyone seems to have let the cash for baby organs thing go away. Certain members of my family accuse me of paying attention to the wrong things concerning the Lord. Well yours truly will never apologize for starting with the basics with the Lord. That being life itself.  We will guarantee you one thing friends God has not stopped keeping count on our evil.

Pro 8:32-36 KJV  Now therefore hearken unto me, O ye children: for blessed are they that keep my ways.  (33)  Hear instruction, and bewise, and refuse it not.  (34)  Blessed is the man that heareth me,  watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors.  (35)  For whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the LORD.  (36)  But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death.

Pro 8:36 KJV  But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death.

The Choice of Life and Death
Deu 30:11-20 KJV  For this commandment which I command thee this day, it is not hidden from thee, neither is it far off.  (12)  It is not in heaven, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go up for us to heaven, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it?  (13)  Neither is it beyond the sea, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go over the sea for us, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it?  (14)  But the word is very nigh unto thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart, that thou mayest do it.  (15)  See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil;  (16)  In that I command thee this day to love the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his judgments, that thou mayest live and multiply: and the LORD thy God shall bless thee in the land whither thou goest to possess it.  (17)  But if thine heart turn away, so that thou wilt not hear, but shalt be drawn away, and worship other gods, and serve them;  (18)  I denounce unto you this day, that ye shall surely perish, and that ye shall not prolong your days upon the land, whither thou passest over Jordan to go to possess it.  (19)  I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:  (20)  That thou mayest love the LORD thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou mayest dwell in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.

All Scripture Is Breathed Out by God

2Ti 3:10-17 KJV  But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience,  (11)  Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me.  (12)  Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.  (13)  But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.  (14)But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of,
knowing of whom thou hast learned them;  (15)  And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.  (16)  All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:  (17)  That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

The Judgment at Christ's Coming

2Th 1:5-12 KJV  Which is a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God, that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer:  (6)  Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you;  (7)  And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,  (8)  In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:  (9)  Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;  (10)  When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day.  (11)  Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power:  (12)  That the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and ye in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.

We recently called out hypocrites who vote for Americans to murder their children then rush to the border to care for and aid “the children at the border”.

It’s a sad day for America when we boast about murdering a baby born of the womb. Then the idiotic politicians that bring this about care about those breaking our laws by illegally coming across the border and murdering our American children.

Anytime an American is killed by an American that constitutes a crisis.

ANY TIME an American is killed by someone who has no worth for being here in our nation IT IS  A CRISIS. The act of taking a human life. The in most cases severely brutal murders that happen at the hands of the likes of MS-13 and so forth. We do hear about the gangs and the drugs. Has anyone put the crisis at the border and the measles outbreak together yet?

You know in the scripture people and empires even were represented as wild beasts because it was how they acted in most cases and God has His own reasons about the rest. We hear our president refer to MS-13 and others as animals and the liberals especially Nancy Pelosi went crazy over that comment. Just remember folks to these types of people as an American citizen YOU ARE TOTALLY EXPENDABLE. As long as they get their illegal minority votes that’s all they care about.

Let’s step back a little further into prophetic and scriptural history.
Jesus Himself tells us about the condition of the world and how it will mirror the world of Noah’s. As we have done before let’s explore the days of Noah briefly. Starting with the creation of man and the only command given him by the Lord.

Gen 1:26-31 KJV  And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.  (27)  So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.  (28)  And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.  (29)  And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.  (30)  And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.  (31)  And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

Our only command as we have stated here before was to multiply and increase in the earth. As usual we could not even get this right. Does it appear that God wants us to destroy a child for any reason at all here? We love it here at the ministry when combatant atheists or even Satanists (since their really both the same thing) accuse God of being strict and unapproachably pious. We laugh because the most enjoyable physical experience was all God wanted of us and we could not even get that right.

      Increasing Corruption on Earth

Gen 6:1-8 KJV  And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them,  (2)  That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.  (3)  And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.  (4)  There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.  (5)  And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.  (6)  And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.  (7)  And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.  (8)  But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.

Noah and the Flood

Gen 6:9-13 KJV  These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.  (10)  And Noah begat three sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth.  (11)  The earth also was corruptH7843 before God, and the earth was filled with violence.  (12)  And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.  (13)  And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.

What does God tell us our flaws are at this point? Well let’s start with verse 11.

Gen 6:11 KJV  The earth also was corruptH7843before God, and the earth was filled with violenceH2555.

The first word God uses here to describe the situation is corrupt. Do we know about this word or hear about it a lot today. Of course we do.

H2555
חָמָס
châmâs
khaw-mawce'

Deu 27:25 KJV  Cursed be he that taketh reward to slay an innocent person. And all the people shall say, Amen.

Just for those not getting the picture here God is pretty clear with what He feels about the issue of taking life for money. We could just go ahead and state rewards can come in many ways.

Warning Concerning Antichrists

1Jn 2:18-27 KJV  Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.  (19)  They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.  (20)  But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things.  (21)  I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth.  (22)  Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.  (23)  Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.  (24)  Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father.  (25)  And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life.  (26)  These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you.  (27)  But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

How does God refer to us here? As little children ourselves.

Jer 22:29-30 KJV  O earth, earth, earth, hear the word of the LORD.  (30)  Thus saith the LORD, Write ye this man childless, a man that shall not prosper in his days: for no man of his seed shall prosper, sitting upon the throne of David, and ruling any more in Judah.

Jer 1:4-7 KJV  Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,  (5)  Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.  (6)  Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child.  (7)  But the LORD said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak.

The following verses are ones that describe the importance of a man having a child or children.

Gen_15:2  And Abram said, Lord GOD, what wilt thou give me, seeing I go childless, and the steward of my house is this Eliezer of Damascus?

Lev_20:20  And if a man shall lie with his uncle's wife, he hath uncovered his uncle's nakedness: they shall bear their sin; they shall die childless.

Lev_20:21  And if a man shall take his brother's wife, it is an unclean thing: he hath uncovered his brother's nakedness; they shall be childless.

1Sa_15:33  And Samuel said, As thy sword hath made women childless, so shall thy mother be childless among women. And Samuel hewed Agag in pieces before the LORD in Gilgal.
Jer_22:30  Thus saith the LORD, Write ye this man childless, a man that shall not prosper in his days: for no man of his seed shall prosper, sitting upon the throne of David, and ruling any more in Judah.

Luk_20:30  And the second took her to wife, and he died childless.

Most of these verses convey the importance of having a child to be an heir. How it was a very important thing to have not only an heir but as large a family as possible. The issue was very serious to the woman as much as the man in the scriptural history. We will not visit there today but let’s just say read the account of Rachel giving birth to Benjamin.

Let’s explore for a few moments the word corrupt.

Gen 6:11 KJV  The earth also was corruptH7843before God, and the earth was filled with violenceH2555.

Our last count we discovered the word in the form of H7843 occurs 11 times. Two of those here in Genesis 6.

Gen_6:11  The earthH776 also was corruptH7843 beforeH6440 God,H430 and the earthH776 was filledH4390 with violence.H2555Gen_6:12  And GodH430 looked uponH7200 (H853) the earth,H776 and, behold,H2009 it was corrupt;H7843 forH3588 allH3605 fleshH1320 had corruptedH7843 (H853) his wayH1870 uponH5921 the earth.H776

Idolatry Forbidden

Deu 4:15-22 KJV  Take ye therefore good heed unto yourselves; for ye saw no manner of similitude on the day that the LORD spake unto you in Horeb out of the midst of the fire:  (16)  Lest ye corrupt yourselves, and make you a graven image, the similitude of any figure, the likeness of male or female,  (17)  The likeness of any beast that is on the earth, the likeness of any winged fowl that flieth in the air,  (18)  The likeness of any thing that creepeth on the ground, the likeness of any fish that is in the waters beneath the earth:  (19)  And lest thou lift up thine eyes unto heaven, and when thou seest the sun, and the moon, and the stars, even all the host of heaven, shouldest be driven to worship them, and serve them, which the LORD thy God hath divided unto all nations under the whole heaven.  (20)  But the LORD hath taken you, and brought you forth out of the iron furnace, even out of Egypt, to be unto him a people of inheritance, as ye are this day.  (21)  Furthermore the LORD was angry with me for your sakes, and sware that I should not go over Jordan, and that I should not go in unto that good land, which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance:  (22)  But I must die in this land, I must not go over Jordan: but ye shall go over, and possess that good land.

Deu_4:16  LestH6435 ye corruptH7843 yourselves, and makeH6213 you a graven image,H6459 the similitudeH8544 of anyH3605 figure,H5566 the likenessH8403 of maleH2145 orH176 female,H5347

Deu 4:23-31 KJV  Take heed unto yourselves, lest ye forget the covenant of the LORD your God, which he made with you, and make you a graven image, or the likeness of any thing, which the LORD thy God hath forbidden thee.  (24)  For the LORD thy God is a consuming fire, even a jealous God.  (25)  When thou shalt beget children, and children's children, and ye shall have remained long in the land, and shall corrupt yourselves, and make a graven image, or the likeness of any thing, and shall do evil in the sight of the LORD thy God, to provoke him to anger:  (26)  I call heaven and earth to witness against
you this day, that ye shall soon utterly perish from off the land whereunto ye go over Jordan to possess it; ye shall not prolong your days upon it, but shall utterly be destroyed.  (27)  And the LORD shall scatter you among the nations, and ye shall be left few in number among the heathen, whither the LORD shall lead you.  (28)  And there ye shall serve gods, the work of men's hands, wood and stone, which neither see, nor hear, nor eat, nor smell.  (29)  But if from thence thou shalt seek the LORD thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul.  (30)  When thou art in tribulation, and all these things are come upon thee, even in the latter days, if thou turn to the LORD thy God, and shalt be obedient unto his voice;  (31)  (For the LORD thy God is a merciful God;) he will not forsake thee, neither destroy thee, nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which he sware unto them.

Deu_4:25  WhenH3588 thou shalt begetH3205 children,H1121 and children'sH1121 children,H1121 and ye shall have remained longH3462 in the land,H776 and shall corruptH7843 yourselves, and makeH6213 a graven image,H6459 or the likenessH8544 of anyH3605 thing, and shall doH6213 evilH7451 in the sightH5869 of the LORDH3068 thy God,H430 to provoke him to anger:H3707

We would like to interject this at this point. There are many forms of idolatry and falsehoods as God tells us here. Here in America it seems we are seeing a resurgence of things like telephone psychics, tarot readers and the likes thereof. The original dial up psychics for those too young to remember we believe started in the late 60’s into the 70’s. It grew into a multi billion dollar industry if our memory is correct.

The sadness about this is that too many people are looking to these things for answers. We as believers understand that the Lord Yeshua  is the answer. Some of us are fortunate to be raised in an environment where faith never quite completely escapes them. The rest of us chase our ideas around the world literally for many. Once we get Jesus we need to hold on to Him for dear life and find a way to share His teachings through scripture.

Deu 31:24-29 KJV  And it came to pass, when Moses had made an end of writing the words of this law in a book, until they were finished,  (25)  That Moses commanded the Levites, which bare the ark of the covenant of the LORD, saying,  (26)  Take this book of the law, and put it in the side of the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, that it may be there for a witness against thee.  (27)  For I know thy rebellion, and thy stiff neck: behold, while I am yet alive with you this day, ye have been rebellious against the LORD; and how much more after my death?  (28)  Gather unto me all the elders of your tribes, and your officers, that I may speak these words in their ears, and call heaven and earth to record against them.  (29)  For I know that after my death ye will utterly corrupt yourselves, and turn aside from the way which I have commanded you; and evil will befall you in the latter days; because ye will do evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger through the work of your hands.

A passage we will be exploring fairly often with upcoming journeys follows from the Psalms. We will be exploring it for a variety of reasons.

The Fool Says, There Is No God

Psa 14:1-7 KJV  To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. The fool hath
said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.  (2)  The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God.  (3)  They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one.  (4)  Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people as they eat bread, and call not upon the LORD.  (5)  There were they in great fear: for God is in the generation of the righteous.  (6)  Ye have shamed the counsel of the poor, because the LORD is his refuge.  (7)  Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! when the LORD bringeth back the captivity of his people, Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.

There are a lot of foolish politicians out there right now. We say foolish because they feel that the greatest existential threat now mind you is climate change. Not religiously motivated terrorists all of a sudden huh? Well we are getting into that stuff soon but not right now.

Let’s just say in the eyes of the believers politicians promising everything under the sun except how they are going to protect us from the likes of Russia and Iran are foolish. In case you have not noticed anti Semitism is alive and well in the U.S. congress now.

The Lord Is My Light and My Salvation

Psa 27:1-3 KJV  A Psalm of David. The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?  (2)  When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.  (3)  Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.

Psa 27:4-6 KJV  One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple.  (5)  For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.  (6)  And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the LORD.

Psa 27:6-14 KJV  And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the LORD.  (7)  Hear, O LORD, when I cry with my voice: have mercy also upon me, and answer me.  (8)  When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, LORD, will I seek.  (9)  Hide not thy face far from me; put not thy servant away in anger: thou hast been my help; leave me not, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation.  (10)  When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take me up.  (11)  Teach me thy way, O LORD, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies.  (12)  Deliver me not over unto the will of mine enemies: for false witnesses are risen up against me, and such as breathe out cruelty.  (13)  I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.  (14)  Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.

Psa 53:1-6 KJV  To the chief Musician upon Mahalath, Maschil, A Psalm of David. The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good.  (2)  God looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, that did seek God.  (3)  Every one of them is gone back: they are altogether become filthy; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.  (4)  Have the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people as they
eat bread: they have not called upon God.  (5)  There were they in great fear, where no fear was: for God hath scattered the bones of him that encampeth against thee: thou hast put them to shame, because God hath despised them.  (6)  Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! When God bringeth back the captivity of his people, Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.

Pro 25:26 KJV  A righteous man falling down before the wicked is as a troubled fountain, and a corrupt spring.

The Lord Will Restore Israel

Eze 20:33-44 KJV  As I live, saith the Lord GOD, surely with a mighty hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with fury poured out, will I rule over you:  (34)  And I will bring you out from the people, and will gather you out of the countries wherein ye are scattered, with a mighty hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with fury poured out.  (35)  And I will bring you into the wilderness of the people, and there will I plead with you face to face.  (36)  Like as I pleaded with your fathers in the wilderness of the land of Egypt, so will I plead with you, saith the Lord GOD.  (37)  And I will cause you to pass under the rod, and I will bring you into the bond of the covenant:  (38)  And I will purge out from among you the rebels, and them that transgress against me: I will bring them forth out of the country where they sojourn, and they shall not enter into the land of Israel: and ye shall know that I am the LORD.  (39)  As for you, O house of Israel, thus saith the Lord GOD; Go ye, serve ye every one his idols, and hereafter also, if ye will not hearken unto me: but pollute ye my holy name no more with your gifts, and with your idols.  (40)  For in mine holy mountain, in the mountain of the height of Israel, saith the Lord GOD, there shall all the house of Israel, all of them in the land, serve me: there will I accept them, and there will I require your offerings, and the firstfruits of your oblations, with all your holy things.  (41)  I will accept you with your sweet savour, when I bring you out from the people, and gather you out of the countries wherein ye have been scattered; and I will be sanctified in you before the heathen.  (42)  And ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I shall bring you into the land of Israel, into the country for the which I lifted up mine hand to give it to your fathers.  (43)  And there shall ye remember your ways, and all your doings, wherein ye have been defiled; and ye shall lothe yourselves in your own sight for all your evils that ye have committed.  (44)  And ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I have wrought with you for my name's sake, not according to your wicked ways, nor according to your corrupt doings, O ye house of Israel, saith the Lord GOD.

This passage relays the continuous messages from prophecy with regards to Israel’s rebellion and restoration. In some ways we like to think of things like terrorist attacks and major disasters and so forth as issues pulling us together and not apart. We explored in some of our looks into hurricane Katrina and Ezekiel 13 how God sifts and separates His people out of the aftermath.

The next use of the word corrupt is found in Ezekiel 23. A passage which Samaria and Jerusalem are represented by 2 adulterous sisters Oloha and Oholibah.

Eze 23:1-11 KJV  The word of the LORD came again unto me, saying,  (2)  Son of man, there were two women, the daughters of one mother:  (3)  And they committed whoredoms in Egypt; they committed whoredoms in their youth: there were their breasts pressed, and there they bruised the teats of their virginity.  (4)  And the names of them were Aholah the elder, and Aholibah her sister: and they were mine, and they bare sons and daughters. Thus were their names; Samaria is Aholah, and Jerusalem Aholibah.  (5)  And Aholah played the harlot when she was mine; and she doted on her lovers, on the Assyrians her neighbours,  (6)  Which were clothed with blue, captains and rulers, all of them desirable young men, horsemen riding upon horses.  (7)  Thus she committed her whoredoms with them, with all them that were the chosen men of Assyria, and with all on whom she doted: with all their idols she defiled herself.  (8)  Neither left she her whoredoms brought from Egypt: for in her youth they lay with her, and they bruised the breasts of her virginity, and poured their whoredom upon her.  (9)  Wherefore I have delivered her into the hand of her lovers, into the hand of the Assyrians, upon whom she doted.  (10)  These discovered her nakedness: they took her sons and her daughters, and slew her with the sword: and she became famous among women; for they had executed judgment upon her.  (11)  And when her sister Aholibah saw this, she was more corrupt in her inordinate love than she, and in her whoredoms more than her sister in her whoredoms.

This is a chapter which we will explore in the future for sure like we always say if the Lord gives us time.  However when exploring the facts of spiritual adultery in America rates right at the top. Some in America have as many gods and goddesses as any nation in the OT history.

The last OT reference to the word corrupt is found in Malachi. A chapter which says a lot about the state of affairs in the middle east as we speak.

Mal 1:1  The burden of the word of the LORD to Israel by Malachi.

The Lord's Love for Israel

Mal 1:2-5 KJV  I have loved you, saith the LORD. Yet ye say, Wherein hast thou loved us? Was not Esau Jacob's brother? saith the LORD: yet I loved Jacob,  (3)  And I hated Esau, and laid his mountains and his heritage waste for the dragons of the wilderness.  (4)  Whereas Edom saith, We are impoverished, but we will return and build the desolate places; thus saith the LORD of hosts, They shall build, but I will throw down; and they shall call them, The border of wickedness, and, The people against whom the LORD hath indignation for ever.  (5)  And your eyes shall see, and ye shall say, The LORD will be magnified from the border of Israel.

The Priests' Polluted Offerings

Mal 1:6-14 KJV  A son honoureth his father, and a servant his master: if then I be a father, where is mine honour? and if I be a master, where is my fear? saith the LORD of hosts unto you, O priests, that despise my name. And ye say, Wherein have we despised thy name?  (7)  Ye offer polluted bread upon mine altar; and ye say, Wherein have we polluted thee? In that ye say, The table of the LORD is contemptible.  (8)  And if ye offer the blind for sacrifice, is it not evil? and if ye offer the lame and sick, is it not evil? offer it now unto thy governor; will he be pleased with thee, or accept thy person? saith the LORD of hosts.  (9)  And now, I pray you, beseech God that he will be gracious unto us: this hath been by your means: will he regard your persons? saith the LORD of hosts.  (10)  Who is there even among you that would shut the doors for nought? neither do ye kindle fire on mine altar for nought. I have no pleasure in you, saith the LORD of hosts, neither will I accept an offering at your hand.  (11)  For from the rising of the sun even unto the going down of the same my name shall be great among the Gentiles; and in every place incense shall be offered unto my name, and a pure offering: for my name shall be great among the heathen, saith the LORD of hosts.  (12)  But ye have profaned it, in that ye say, The table of the LORD is polluted; and the fruit thereof, even his meat, is contemptible.  (13)  Ye said also, Behold, what a weariness is it! and ye have snuffed at it, saith the LORD of hosts; and ye brought that which was torn, and the lame, and the sick; thus ye brought an offering: should I accept this of your hand? saith the LORD.  (14)  But cursed be the deceiver, which hath in his flock a male, and voweth, and sacrificeth unto the Lord a corrupt thing: for I am a great King, saith the LORD of hosts, and my name is dreadful among the heathen.

This passage relates the current situation in the middle east. Esau passed his  birthright to Jacob for a mere bowl of soup. However the situation as some see it today is the descendants of Esau are trying to get the birthright back.
God very rarely states anyone specifically by name when He is describing His hate. However here with Esau we see this taking place. There is a common bond with the messages related here.

We read passages that describe how the people or the priests offered corrupt offerings. The spiritual adultery of following false gods, goddesses and idols.
Our main focus for this journey has been life and death you could say. We have a lot of people such as the Virginia governor who have apparently decided they are god.

We have read about corruption and violence overtaking the earth prior to the flood. Right now we are exploring the corruption as the word appears in scripture concerning the flood. We are not stating this is all the words that are used for corruption. However we have finished our OT look at the word.

H7843
שָׁחַת
sha^chath
shaw-khath'
A primitive root; to decay, that is, (causatively) ruin (literally or figuratively): - batter, cast off, corrupt (-er, thing), destroy (-er, -uction), lose, mar, perish, spill, spoiler, X utterly, waste (-r).
Total KJV occurrences: 146

We will look at the words of Jesus and the rest of the NT regarding the word corrupt in our next journey. Just remember GOD does not like abortion. When it comes to the life and death of a child God the Father of the Son Jesus is just that THE FATHER. Yes God has killed children in scripture but that’s His business. He also felt His own Son had to die because none of us could ever be worthy. The only times He did so was in warfare and in protecting the world from tribes of folks that spelled trouble.

Jesus is our Lord and Savior

I Am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life

Joh 14:1-7 KJV  Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.  (2)  In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.  (3)  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.  (4)  And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.  (5)  Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?  (6)  Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.  (7)  If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.

The Philippian Jailer Converted

Act 16:25-40 KJV  And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.  (26)  And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one's bands were loosed.  (27)  And the keeper of the prison awaking out of his sleep, and seeing the prison doors open, he drew out his sword, and would have killed himself, supposing that the prisoners had been fled.  (28)  But Paul cried with a loud voice, saying, Do thyself no harm: for we are all here.  (29)  Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas,  (30)  And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?  (31)  And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.  (32)  And they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house.  (33)  And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, straightway.  (34)  And when he had brought them into his house, he set meat before them, and rejoiced, believing in God with all his house.  (35)  And when it was day, the magistrates sent the serjeants, saying, Let those men go.  (36)  And the keeper of the prison told this saying to Paul, The magistrates have sent to let you go: now therefore depart, and go in peace.  (37)  But Paul said unto them, They have beaten us openly uncondemned, being Romans, and have cast us into prison; and now do they thrust us out privily? nay verily; but let them come themselves and fetch us out.  (38)  And the serjeants told these words unto the magistrates: and they feared, when they heard that they were Romans.  (39)  And they came and besought them, and brought them out, and desired them to depart out of the city.  (40)  And they went out of the prison, and entered into the house of Lydia: and when they had seen the brethren, they comforted them, and departed.

Act 16:29-31 KJV  Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas,  (30)  And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?  (31)  And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

We wanted to close out with a passage regarding something we all need the salvation of our Lord and Savior Jesus or Yeshua.

The world certainly is becoming more and more corrupt and most definitely more violent. The abortion industry in America is more dangerous than most of the other “conspiracies” we hear about all the time. There are many many people who have come to the love of our Lord and Savior as a direct result of the consequences of abortions.

Rev 16:15 KJV  Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.

Rev 22:7 KJV  Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book.

As always thanks for sharing a word
God Bless

Zechariah 2:8-9 Babylon a Biblical Account

Zechariah 2:8-9
Babylon a Scriptural Account

Joh 14:8-14 KJV  Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us.  (9)  Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?  (10)  Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.  (11)  Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake.  (12)  Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.  (13)  And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.  (14)  If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

Jesus Promises the Holy Spirit

Joh 14:15-21 KJV  If ye love me, keep my commandments.  (16)  And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;  (17)  Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.  (18)  I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.  (19)  Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.  (20)  At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.  (21)  He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

Joh 14:22-31 KJV  Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world?  (23)  Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.  (24)  He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.  (25)  These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you.  (26)  But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.  (27)  Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.  (28)  Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.  (29)  And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye might believe.  (30)  Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.  (31)  But that the world may know that I love the Father; and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go hence.

A Vision of a Man with a Measuring Line

Zec 2:1-13 KJV  I lifted up mine eyes again, and looked, and behold a man with a measuring line in his hand.  (2)  Then said I, Whither goest thou? And he said unto me, To measure Jerusalem, to see what is the breadth thereof, and what is the length thereof.  (3)  And, behold, the angel that talked with me went forth, and another angel went out to meet him,  (4)  And said unto him, Run, speak to this young man, saying, Jerusalem shall be inhabited as towns without walls for the multitude of men and cattle therein:  (5)  For I, saith the LORD, will be unto her a wall of fire round about, and will be the glory in the midst of her.  (6)  Ho, ho, come forth, and flee from the land of the north, saith the LORD: for I have spread you abroad as the four winds of the heaven, saith the LORD.  (7)  Deliver thyself, O Zion, that dwellest with the daughter of Babylon.  (8)  For thus saith the LORD of hosts; After the glory hath he sent me unto the nations which spoiled you: for he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye.  (9)  For, behold, I will shake mine hand upon them, and they shall be a spoil to their servants: and ye shall know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me.  (10)  Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion: for, lo, I come, and I will dwell in the midst of thee, saith the LORD.  (11)  And many nations shall be joined to the LORD in that day, and shall be my people: and I will dwell in the midst of thee, and thou shalt know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me unto thee.  (12)  And the LORD shall inherit Judah his portion in the holy land, and shall choose Jerusalem again.  (13)  Be silent, O all flesh, before the LORD: for he is raised up out of his holy habitation.

Zec 2:8-9 KJV  For thus saith the LORD of hosts; After the glory hath he sent me unto the nations which spoiled you: for he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye.  (9)  For, behold, I will shake mine hand upon them, and they shall be a spoil to their servants: and ye shall know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me.

In case you just joined these latest journeys we have been exploring Zechariah 2:8-9. Exploring the passage with regards to the enemy nations of Israel. In our last get together we looked at the spiritual side of Isaiah 14 concerning the spiritual king of Babylon.

In this journey we will explore many more things found here in Isaiah regarding Babylon.

Isa 14:21-23 KJV  Prepare slaughter for his children for the iniquity of their fathers; that they do not rise, nor possess the land, nor fill the face of the world with cities.  (22)  For I will rise up against them, saith the LORD of hosts, and cut off from Babylon the name, and remnant, and son, and nephew, saith the LORD.  (23)  I will also make it a possession for the bittern, and pools of water: and I will sweep it with the besom of destruction, saith the LORD of hosts.

Babylon in the OT alone is found 282 times in 249 verses. In the book of Isaiah it is found 13 times in 13 verses. Of course we have explored Isaiah 13 already. Babylon appears 2 times in Isaiah 14. One of those found above in verse 22.

Isa 14:22 KJV  For I will rise up against them, saith the LORD of hosts, and cut off from Babylon the name, and remnant, and son, and nephew, saith the LORD.

God states that all males will in essence be cut off from Babylon. Therefore rendering a remnant of survivors to be impossible.

The next interesting information we receive regarding Babylon is found in Isaiah 21.

Fallen, Fallen Is Babylon

Isa 21:1-17 KJV  The burden of the desert of the sea. As whirlwinds in the south pass through; so it cometh from the desert, from a terrible land.  (2)  A grievous vision is declared unto me; the treacherous dealer dealeth treacherously, and the spoiler spoileth. Go up, O Elam: besiege, O Media; all the sighing thereof have I made to cease.  (3)  Therefore are my loins filled with pain: pangs have taken hold upon me, as the pangs of a woman that travaileth: I was bowed down at the hearing of it; I was dismayed at the seeing of it.  (4)  My heart panted, fearfulness affrighted me: the night of my pleasure hath he turned into fear unto me.  (5)  Prepare the table, watch in the watchtower, eat, drink: arise, ye princes, and anoint the shield.  (6)  For thus hath the Lord said unto me, Go, set a watchman, let him declare what he seeth.  (7)  And he saw a chariot with a couple of horsemen, a chariot of asses, and a chariot of camels; and he hearkened diligently with much heed:  (8)  And he cried, A lion: My lord, I stand continually upon the watchtower in the daytime, and I am set in my ward whole nights:  (9)  And, behold, here cometh a chariot of men, with a couple of horsemen. And he answered and said, Babylon is fallen, is fallen;and all the graven images of her gods he hath broken unto the ground.  (10)  O my threshing, and the corn of my floor: that which I have heard of the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, have I declared unto you.  (11)  The burden of Dumah. He calleth to me out of Seir, Watchman, what of the night? Watchman, what of the night?  (12)  The watchman said, The morning cometh, and also the night: if ye will enquire, enquire ye: return, come.  (13)  The burden upon Arabia. In the forest in Arabia shall ye lodge, O ye travelling companies of Dedanim.  (14)  The inhabitants of the land of Tema brought water to him that was thirsty, they prevented with their bread him that fled.  (15)  For they fled from the swords, from the drawn sword, and from the bent bow, and from the grievousness of war.  (16)  For thus hath the Lord said unto me, Within a year, according to the years of an hireling, and all the glory of Kedar shall fail:  (17)  And the residue of the number of archers, the mighty men of the children of Kedar, shall be diminished: for the LORD God of Israel hath spoken it.

Isa 21:9 KJV  And, behold, here cometh a chariot of men, with a couple of horsemen. And he answered and said, Babylon is fallen, is fallen; and all the graven images of her gods he hath broken unto the ground.

We have explored the fall of Babylon from the direction of the Medes and Persians. If we look back carefully we see that a pattern starts here regarding Babylon. In case you were not around during the days of our Daniel 5 studies that is the chapter where we first notice something. That something being this. This is the infamous passage where we see the writing on the wall.

Daniel Interprets the Handwriting

Dan 5:13-31 KJV  Then was Daniel brought in before the king. And the king spake and said unto Daniel, Art thou that Daniel, which art of the children of the captivity of Judah, whom the king my father brought out of Jewry?  (14)  I have even heard of thee, that the spirit of the gods is in thee, and that light and understanding and excellent wisdom is found in thee.  (15)  And now the wise men, the astrologers, have been brought in before me, that they should read this writing, and make known unto me the interpretation thereof: but they could not shew the interpretation of the thing:  (16)  And I have heard of thee, that thou canst make interpretations, and dissolve doubts: now if thou canst read the writing, and make known to me the interpretation thereof, thou shalt be clothed with scarlet, and have a chain of gold about thy neck, and shalt be the third ruler in the kingdom.  (17)  Then Daniel answered and said before the king, Let thy gifts be to thyself, and give thy rewards to another; yet I will read the writing unto the king, and make known to him the interpretation.  (18)  O thou king, the most high God gave Nebuchadnezzar thy father a kingdom, and majesty, and glory, and honour:  (19)  And for the majesty that he gave him, all people, nations, and languages, trembled and feared before him: whom he would he slew; and whom he would he kept alive; and whom he would he set up; and whom he would he put down.  (20)  But when his heart was lifted up, and his mind hardened in pride, he was deposed from his kingly throne, and they took his glory from him:  (21)  And he was driven from the sons of men; and his heart was made like the beasts, and his dwelling was with the wild asses: they fed him with grass like oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven; till he knew that the most high God ruled in the kingdom of men, and that he appointeth over it whomsoever he will.  (22)  And thou his son, O Belshazzar, hast not humbled thine heart, though thou knewest all this;  (23)  But hast lifted up thyself against the Lord of heaven; and they have brought the vessels of his house before thee, and thou, and thy lords, thy wives, and thy concubines, have drunk wine in them; and thou hast praised the gods of silver, and gold, of brass, iron, wood, and stone, which see not, nor hear, nor know: and the God in whose hand thy breath is, and whose are all thy ways, hast thou not glorified:  (24)  Then was the part of the hand sent from him; and this writing was written.  (25)  And this is the writing that was written, MENEH4487, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN.  (26)  This is the interpretation of the thing: MENE; God hath numbered thy kingdom, and finished it.  (27)  TEKEL; Thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting.  (28)  PERES; Thy kingdom is divided, and given to the Medes and Persians.  (29)  Then commanded Belshazzar, and they clothed Daniel with scarlet, and put a chain of gold about his neck, and made a proclamation concerning him, that he should be the third ruler in the kingdom.  (30)  In that night was Belshazzar the king of the Chaldeans slain.  (31)  And Darius the Median took the kingdom, being about threescore and two years old.

In the writing on the wall the kingdom of Babylon has been weighed and the word used to spell this out is found twice. Here in the book of Isaiah we see a prophecy in chapter 21 which also rewards Babylon double. There is another prophecy we read a lot that tells us of a double reward for Babylon.

The Fall of Babylon

Rev 18:1-10 KJV  And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory.  (2)  And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.  (3)  For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.  (4)  And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.  (5)  For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.  (6)  Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double unto her double according to her works: in the cup which she hath filled fill to her double.  (7)  How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow
give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow.  (8)  Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her.  (9)  And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning,  (10)  Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come.

A scriptural account of the kingdom and city of Babylon

Cain and Abel
Gen 4:1-7 KJV  And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the LORD.  (2)  And she again bare his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground.  (3)  And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD.  (4)  And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering:  (5)  But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell.  (6)  And the LORD said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen?  (7)  If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.

Gen 4:8-16 KJV  And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him.  (9)  And the LORD said unto Cain, Where is Abel thy brother? And he said, I know not: Am I my brother's keeper?  (10)  And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto me from the ground.  (11)  And now art thou cursed from the earth, which hath opened her mouth to receive thy brother's blood from thy hand;  (12)  When thou tillest the ground, it shall not henceforth yield unto thee her strength; a fugitive and a vagabond shalt thou be in the earth.  (13)  And Cain said unto the LORD, My punishment is greater than I can bear.  (14)  Behold, thou hast driven me out this day from the face of the earth; and from thy face shall I be hid; and I shall be a fugitive and a vagabond in the earth; and it shall come to pass, that every one that findeth me shall slay me.  (15)  And the LORD said unto him, Therefore whosoever slayeth Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold. And the LORD set a mark upon Cain, lest any finding him should kill him.  (16)  And Cain went out from the presence of the LORD, and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden.

Cain sets out to the east just as the cherubim guarding the garden protected from the east side. We do not have a direct connection to what becomes Babylon with Cain but we do know it was to the east and in the land made for Satan a land for wandering.

Gen 3:22-24 KJV  And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:  (23)  Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken.  (24)  So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.

Cain is settling into an area known as Nod.

Gen 4:16 KJV  And Cain went out from the presence of the LORD, and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the eastH5113 of Eden.

We recently looked at the enemy Satan in scripture within our Zechariah 2:8-9 journeys. Cain as we can see is banished to a world of wandering. Satan as we observed in Job 1 is found to be doing what? Wandering to and fro upon the earth.

Job 1:6-7 KJV  Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them.  (7)  And the LORD said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.

Job 2:1-2 KJV  Again there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them to present himself before the LORD.  (2)  And the LORD said unto Satan, From whence comest thou? And Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.

Judgment on False Teachers

Jud 1:3-16 KJV  Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.  (4)  For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.  (5)  I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not.  (6)  And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.  (7)  Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.  (8)  Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities.  (9)  Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.  (10)  But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves.  (11)  Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core.  (12)  These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots;  (13)  Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever. (14)  And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,  (15)  To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.  (16)  These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men's persons in admiration because of advantage.

Jud 1:11 KJV  Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core.

The way of Cain is spoken of here.

Nations Descended from Noah

Gen 10:6-12 KJV  And the sons of Ham; Cush, and Mizraim, and Phut, and Canaan.  (7)  And the sons of Cush; Seba, and Havilah, and Sabtah, and Raamah, and Sabtecha: and the sons of Raamah; Sheba, and Dedan.  (8)  And Cush begat Nimrod: he began to be a mighty one in the earth.  (9)  He was a mighty hunter before the LORD: wherefore it is said, Even as NimrodH5248the mighty hunter before the LORD.  (10)  And the beginning of his kingdom was BabelH894, and Erech, and Accad, and Calneh, in the land of ShinarH8152.  (11)  Out of that land went forth Asshur, and builded Nineveh, and the city Rehoboth, and Calah,  (12)  And Resen between Nineveh and Calah: the same is a great city.

There are a few key words we will address here. They are for now Nimrod, Babel and Shinar.

Now let’s explore the word or the name Nimrod. We will look at a couple of different dictionaries.

The Hitchcock keeps it nice and simple
Nimrod
rebellion

The Smith Dictionary
Nimrod
Nim'rod. (rebellion; or the valiant). A son of Cush and grandson of Ham. The events of his life are recorded in Gen_10:8; ff., from which we learn
(1) that he was a Cushite;
(2) that he established an empire in Shinar, (the classical Babylonia), the chief towns being Babel, Erech, Accad, and Calneh; and
(3) that he extended this empire northward, along the course of the Tigris over Assyria, where he founded a second group of capitals, Nineveh, Rehoboth, Calah, and Resen.

We would probably support the notion of rebellion here. We can see very little reason to call this man valiant. Next we will explore the word Babel.

Babel
confusion; mixture

The Smith Dictionary
Babel
Ba'bel. (confusion). Bab'ylon, (Greek form of Babel), is properly the capital city of the country, which is called in Genesis, Shinar, and in the later books, Chaldea, or the land of the Chaldeans. The first rise of the Chaldean power was in the region close upon the Persian Gulf; thence, the nation spread northward up the course of the rivers, and the seat of government moved in the same direction, being finally fixed at Babylon, perhaps not earlier than B.C, 1700.

The Smith Dictionary
Shinar
Shi'nar. (country of two rivers). The ancient name of the great alluvial tract, through which the Tigris and Euphrates pass, before reaching the sea -- the tract known, in later times, as Chaldaea or Babylonia. It was a plain country, where brick had to be used for stone and slime for mortar. Gen_11:3. Among the cities were Babel (Babylon), Erech or Orech (Orchoe), Calneh or Calno (probably, Niffer), and Accad, the site of which is unknown. It may be suspected that Shinar was the name by which the Hebrews originally knew the lower Mesopotamian country, where they so long dwelt, and which Abraham brought with him, from "Ur of the Chaldees."

Before we move forward with the scriptural look at Babylon we must address the Aramaic name of the territory. We can find it in the ISBE.
The International Standard Bible Encyclopedia.

Babel; Babylon (1)
bā´bel, bab´i-lon (Topographical): Babylon was the Greek name of the city written in the cuneiform script of the Babylonians, bab-ili, which means in Semitic, “the gate of god.” The Hebrews called the country, as well as the city, Bābhel. This name they considered came from the' root, bālal, “to confound” (Gen_11:9). The name in Sumerian ideographs was written Din-tir, which means “life of the forest,” and yet ancient etymologists explained it as meaning “place of the seat of life” (shubat balâṭe). Ka-dingirra, which also means “gate of god,” was another form of the name in Sumerian. It was also called Su-anna (which is of uncertain meaning) and Uru-azagga, “the holy city.”

When considering the definition “gate of god” we learned a while back to question what god?

The Tower of Babel

Gen 11:1-9 KJV  And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech.  (2)  And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there.  (3)  And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them throughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for morter.  (4)  And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.  (5)  And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded.  (6)  And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.  (7)  Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech.  (8)  So the LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city.  (9)  Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the LORD did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the LORD scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth.

Abram Rescues Lot

Gen 14:1-16 KJV  And it came to pass in the days of Amraphel king of Shinar, Arioch king of Ellasar, Chedorlaomer king of Elam, and Tidal king of nations;  (2)  That these made war with Bera king of Sodom, and with Birsha king of Gomorrah, Shinab king of Admah, and Shemeber king of Zeboiim, and the king of Bela, which is Zoar.  (3)  All these were joined together in the vale of Siddim, which is the salt sea.  (4)  Twelve years they served Chedorlaomer, and in the thirteenth year they rebelled.  (5)  And in the fourteenth year came Chedorlaomer, and the kings that were with him, and smote the Rephaims in Ashteroth Karnaim, and the Zuzims in Ham, and the Emims in Shaveh Kiriathaim,  (6)  And the Horites in their mount Seir, unto Elparan, which is by the wilderness.  (7)  And they returned, and came to Enmishpat, which is Kadesh, and smote all the country of the Amalekites, and also the Amorites, that dwelt in Hazezontamar.  (8)  And there went out the king of Sodom, and the king of Gomorrah, and the king of Admah, and the king of Zeboiim, and the king of Bela (the same is Zoar;) and they joined battle with them in the vale of Siddim;  (9)  With Chedorlaomer the king of Elam, and with Tidal king of nations, and Amraphel king of Shinar, and Arioch king of Ellasar; four kings with five.  (10)  And the vale of Siddim was full of slimepits; and the kings of Sodom and Gomorrah fled, and fell there; and they that remained fled to the mountain.  (11)  And they took all the goods of Sodom and Gomorrah, and all their victuals, and went their way.  (12)  And they took Lot, Abram's brother's son, who dwelt in Sodom, and his goods, and departed.  (13)  And there came one that had escaped, and told Abram the Hebrew; for he dwelt in the plain of Mamre the Amorite, brother of Eshcol, and brother of Aner: and these were confederate with Abram.  (14)  And when Abram heard that his brother was taken captive, he armed his trained servants, born in his own house, three hundred and eighteen, and pursued them unto Dan.  (15)  And he divided himself against them, he and his servants, by night, and smote them, and pursued them unto Hobah, which is on the left hand of Damascus.  (16)  And he brought back all the goods, and also brought again his brother Lot, and his goods, and the women also, and the people.

Abram Blessed by Melchizedek

Gen 14:17-24 KJV  And the king of Sodom went out to meet him after his return from the slaughter of Chedorlaomer, and of the kings that were with him, at the valley of Shaveh, which is the king's dale.  (18)  And MelchizedekH4442 king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high God.  (19)  And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth:  (20)  And blessed be the most high God, which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him tithes of all.  (21)  And the king of Sodom said unto Abram, Give me the persons, and take the goods to thyself.  (22)  And Abram said to the king of Sodom, I have lift up mine hand unto the LORD, the most high God, the possessor of heaven and earth,  (23)  That I will not take from a thread even to a shoelatchet, and that I will not take any thing that is thine, lest thou shouldest say, I have made Abram rich:  (24)  Save only that which the young men have eaten, and the portion of the men which went with me, Aner, Eshcol, and Mamre; let them take their portion.

The most important part of all this is Abraham’s meeting with Melchizedek. However we can see that there were certain things about Abraham that caused this meeting. He was persistent in the ways of God and did not leave a family member behind. He was bold and victorious against all who stood before him. Of course all this came with his belief.

There is something about the description the Bible gives us about Melchizedek.

The only other time in scriptural history there is a King and High Priest of God is when the millennial reign starts with our Lord and Savior Yeshua or Jesus. There is mention of Melchizedek in the NT. All references are found throughout 3 chapters of the book of Hebrews.

For the purposes of this journey we will mention that the pattern of the territory then as well as now exists.

It exists with the warfare still being waged for control of the area. It exists with the periods of time that the area plays with regard to Biblical prophecy. In other words the territory played a part in Abraham’s visit with Melchizedek just as it will with the Lord’s return.

Jesus the Great High Priest

Heb 4:14-16 KJV  Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.  (15)  For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.  (16)  Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

Heb 5:1-10 KJV  For every high priest taken from among men is ordained for men in things pertaining to God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins:  (2)  Who can have compassion on the ignorant, and on them that are out of the way; for that he himself also is compassed with infirmity.  (3)  And by reason hereof he ought, as for the people, so also for himself, to offer for sins.  (4)  And no man taketh this honour unto himself, but he that is called of God, as was Aaron.  (5)  So also Christ glorified not himself to be made an high priest; but he that said unto him, Thou art my Son, to day have I begotten thee.  (6)  As he saith also in another place, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.  (7)  Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared;  (8)  Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;  (9)  And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;  (10)  Called of God an high priest after the order of Melchisedec.

Warning Against Apostasy

Heb 5:11-14 KJV  Of whom we have many things to say, and hard to be uttered, seeing ye are dull of hearing.  (12)  For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.  (13)  For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.  (14)  But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

Rev 16:15 KJV  Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.

As always thanks for sharing a word
God Bless
