Welcome to the World of Biblical Prophecy for History and Today

This Blog is intended to help myself and others gain the best understanding of the world around us through exploration of prophetic scripture. The Bible is the text book. Through these studies we will hopefully provide understanding to both believer and unbeliever alike. The way our God and our Savior Jesus distinguish themselves in the spiritual world is through prophetic means. In other words what the Bible teaches us through fullfillment of these prophecies shows us the truth. Let's take some prophetic journeys through history and at the same time learn about the world around us today. Please try and be patient with any typographical errors as I am my own typist and my own research staff. Thanks

Daniel Extremity 10

Spiritual Warfare Defined

Eph 6:10-20 KJV
(10) Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
(11) Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
(12) For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
(13) Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
(14) Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
(15) And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
(16) Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
(17) And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
(18) Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
(19) And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,
(20) For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

Mar 13:9-11 KJV
(9) But take heed to yourselves: for they shall deliver you up to councils; and in the synagogues ye shall be beaten: and ye shall be brought before rulers and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them.
(10) And the gospel must first be published among all nations.
(11) But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost.

Once again we find ourselves studying another vision given to the prophet Daniel. As best as history is laid out it would appear this vision comes shortly before the changing of command within the Persian empire. It comes in the midst of a fasting period for Daniel. It is also after the release of the Hebrews to rebuild the temple. We must keep in mind that the decree for the temple comes many years before the decree to rebuild the city of Jerusalem.

Dan 10:1-4 KJV
(1) In the third year of Cyrus king of Persia a thing was revealed unto Daniel, whose name was called Belteshazzar; and the thing was true, but the time appointed was long: and he understood the thing, and had understanding of the vision.
(2) In those days I Daniel was mourning three full weeks.
(3) I ate no pleasant bread, neither came flesh nor wine in my mouth, neither did I anoint myself at all, till three whole weeks were fulfilled.
(4) And in the four and twentieth day of the first month, as I was by the side of the great river, which is Hiddekel;

The month of the passover would be the 1st month. Daniel was mourning and fasting for 3 weeks. There were many reasons for Daniel to be in mourning. The scriptures provide a few from the last chapter. Daniel was given knowledge of the Messiah that was coming and the fact He being Jesus would be rejected by the people. This in itself would be enough to trouble Daniel with the knowledge and understanding he had of the prophets. However the knowledge of what the Hebrew nation or Israel would have to endure due to their error for lack of a more harsh word would also be extremely upsetting. The enemies of the Hebrews that had returned we also learned were successful in using the politics of the day to suspend the construction of the temple. Two more things Daniel learned of was the coming of the picture of the antichrist being Antiochus Epiphanes. Then Daniel was showed the vision of the antichrist the little horn that would arise against God and His people.

Dan 9:26 KJV
(26) And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.

The month of Nisan or Abib is the Passover month. On the 10th day of the month was when the Passover lamb was selected. The 14th day is the evening the meal was eaten. The following 7 days the feast of Unleavened Bread took place. Daniel was fasting and praying throughout this entire period. The 24th day Daniel is along the bank of the Hiddekel river.
This is a Hebrew word which is synonymous with the Tigris river. This is also how the river is referred to in the book of Genesis as one of the rivers flowing through Eden.

Gen 2:14 KJV
(14) And the name of the third river is Hiddekel: that is it which goeth toward the east of Assyria. And the fourth river is Euphrates.

Dan 10:5-6 KJV
(5) Then I lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and behold a certain man clothed in linen, whose loins were girded with fine gold of Uphaz:
(6) His body also was like the beryl, and his face as the appearance of lightning, and his eyes as lamps of fire, and his arms and his feet like in colour to polished brass, and the voice of his words like the voice of a multitude.

Dan 10:7-10 KJV
(7) And I Daniel alone saw the vision: for the men that were with me saw not the vision; but a great quaking fell upon them, so that they fled to hide themselves.
(8) Therefore I was left alone, and saw this great vision, and there remained no strength in me: for my comeliness was turned in me into corruption, and I retained no strength.
(9) Yet heard I the voice of his words: and when I heard the voice of his words, then was I in a deep sleep on my face, and my face toward the ground.
(10) And, behold, an hand touched me, which set me upon my knees and upon the palms of my hands.

This is another pattern that flows in both testaments of the scripture. We do not know who these people are that were with Daniel. That is to say the nationality is unknown. They may or may not have been Hebrews. Whether they were in the knowledge of God or not there was definitely a presence which caused an enormous amount of fear within them. There are other times very similar circumstances happen in scripture. They are usually found in relation to great things taking place.

Gen 8:15-16 KJV
(15) And God spake unto Noah, saying,
(16) Go forth of the ark, thou, and thy wife, and thy sons, and thy sons' wives with thee.

Great things like a flood which exterminated all but 8 souls.

Gen 22:11-12 KJV
(11) And the angel of the LORD called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I.
(12) And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me.

The act of another patriarch who had enough faith in God he was willing to sacrifice his son. The act of faith which in the long run saved us all through the actions of Jesus.

Exo 7:8-9 KJV
(8) And the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying,
(9) When Pharaoh shall speak unto you, saying, Shew a miracle for you: then thou shalt say unto Aaron, Take thy rod, and cast it before Pharaoh, and it shall become a serpent.

The deliverance of God's chosen nation of ambassadors for the world.

Isa 8:5-8 KJV
(5) The LORD spake also unto me again, saying,
(6) Forasmuch as this people refuseth the waters of Shiloah that go softly, and rejoice in Rezin and Remaliah's son;
(7) Now therefore, behold, the Lord bringeth up upon them the waters of the river, strong and many, even the king of Assyria, and all his glory: and he shall come up over all his channels, and go over all his banks:
(8) And he shall pass through Judah; he shall overflow and go over, he shall reach even to the neck; and the stretching out of his wings shall fill the breadth of thy land, O Immanuel.

Jer 7:13-15 KJV
(13) And now, because ye have done all these works, saith the LORD, and I spake unto you, rising up early and speaking, but ye heard not; and I called you, but ye answered not;
(14) Therefore will I do unto this house, which is called by my name, wherein ye trust, and unto the place which I gave to you and to your fathers, as I have done to Shiloh.
(15) And I will cast you out of my sight, as I have cast out all your brethren, even the whole seed of Ephraim.

Sometimes telling us that we have not been up to standards and therefore being punished.

Mat 17:5-9 KJV
(5) While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.
(6) And when the disciples heard it, they fell on their face, and were sore afraid.
(7) And Jesus came and touched them, and said, Arise, and be not afraid.
(8) And when they had lifted up their eyes, they saw no man, save Jesus only.
(9) And as they came down from the mountain, Jesus charged them, saying, Tell the vision to no man, until the Son of man be risen again from the dead.

Sometimes delivering the best news of all.

Act 9:1-7 KJV
(1) And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest,
(2) And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem.
(3) And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven:
(4) And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?
(5) And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.
(6) And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.
(7) And the men which journeyed with him stood speechless, hearing a voice, but seeing no man.

Sometimes giving us a wake-up call into His service

Dan 10:11 KJV
(11) And he said unto me, O Daniel, a man greatly beloved(H2530) understand the words that I speak unto thee, and stand upright: for unto thee am I now sent. And when he had spoken this word unto me, I stood trembling.

It should be noted that although we have studied the character of Daniel it is worth a more detailed look through the words of the angel here in verse 11.

H2530
חמד
châmad
khaw-mad'
A primitive root; to delight in: - beauty, greatly beloved, covet, delectable thing, ( X great) delight, desire, goodly, lust, (be) pleasant (thing), precious (thing).

All throughout our studies in the book of Daniel we have witnessed the devotion and standard he held with his faith. By implication of our word study we can observe that Daniel had an advantage with God because of this. Daniel according to what we see and as we have referenced set a standard all of us could learn from. Yet at the same time Daniel was a very humble person realizing his sins were just as much a contributing factor for judgement in his prayer from chapter 9.

Dan 10:12 KJV
(12) Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words.

This is a common greeting announced by angels in the presence of those seeking to find or discover.

Gen 15:1 KJV
(1) After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.

Gen 26:24-25 KJV
(24) And the LORD appeared unto him the same night, and said, I am the God of Abraham thy father: fear not, for I am with thee, and will bless thee, and multiply thy seed for my servant Abraham's sake.
(25) And he builded an altar there, and called upon the name of the LORD, and pitched his tent there: and there Isaac's servants digged a well.

Jos 8:1 KJV
(1) And the LORD said unto Joshua, Fear not, neither be thou dismayed: take all the people of war with thee, and arise, go up to Ai: see, I have given into thy hand the king of Ai, and his people, and his city, and his land:

Jdg 6:23-24 KJV
(23) And the LORD said unto him, Peace be unto thee; fear not: thou shalt not die.
(24) Then Gideon built an altar there unto the LORD, and called it Jehovahshalom: unto this day it is yet in Ophrah of the Abiezrites.

Mat 28:1-6 KJV
(1) In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre.
(2) And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it.
(3) His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow:
(4) And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men.
(5) And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified.
(6) He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.

Rev 1:17-20 KJV
(17) And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last:
(18) I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.
(19) Write the things which thou hast seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter;
(20) The mystery of the seven stars which thou sawest in my right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks. The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches: and the seven candlesticks which thou sawest are the seven churches.

These are just a few examples of a common set of circumstances of biblical persons meeting either God face to face, the Lord Jesus or angels sent by them. The common effects are bowing in reference according to fear. The patterns of dreamlike or unconsciousness which is resolved by the touch of the Holy hands along with the command to fear not.

Dan 10:13 KJV
(13) But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia.

This verse is the beginning of a deep spiritual conversation and study. One of the better ways to open this subject up is to refer to the following verse from Paul's writings and teachings.

Eph 6:12 KJV
(12) For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

The subject being addressed here is spiritual warfare. The applications involved range from personal attacks by demons to Satan's chosen princes of darkness to rule the kingdoms of the earth. The latter is what is being divulged in this verse from Daniel. Let's take a moment for another word study in verse 13.

Dan 10:13 KJV
(13) But the prince(H8269)of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia.

H8269
שׂר śar
sar
From H8323; a head person (of any rank or class): - captain (that had rule), chief (captain), general, governor, keeper, lord, ([-task-]) master, prince (-ipal), ruler, steward.

H8323
 שׂרר śârar
saw-rar'
A primitive root; to have (transitively exercise; reflexively get) dominion: - X altogether, make self a prince, (bear) rule.

In the past we have explored the subject of the temptation of Jesus in the wilderness by Satan. How Satan had control of the earth's kingdoms.

Mat 4:8-10 KJV
(8) Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;
(9) And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.
(10) Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

We know based on this that Satan controlled the kingdoms or world powers we have been studying about. Jesus knew this was not His time to take control. However Satan did have angels who obviously were willing to bow before him in order to obtain power.

Rev 12:9 KJV
(9) And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

Based on the angel's explanation in verse 13 we can see that Satan has chief or principality spirits under his ultimate command. These are very powerful angels which fell to earth with him. In other words we can based on Daniel 10:13 as well as Ephesians 6:12 determine there are wicked spirits which Satan has appointed to rule the kingdoms of darkness upon the earth. In other words a chief demon or principality spirit in control of each of the 7 empires of prophecy . Egypt, Assyria, Babylon as the angel mentions the prince of Persia, Greece, Rome the kingdom of the oncoming mystery Babylon and finally the 8th a version of Satan himself in human form. The 7 heads of the dragon in Revelation 17 we explored in part 3 of Daniel 9.

We can get a picture of how much mercy God offers to mankind through His actions toward Lucifer. God even allows the Devil plenty of chances for redemption and repentance. However it remains important especially as each day ticks by that we make the best of God's offer of salvation. The days of “I'll get right with God later” are gone and it's imperative we do not ignore our wake-up calls. (which I have spoken of doing many times).

2Pe 3:3-9 KJV
(3) Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
(4) And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
(5) For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:
(6) Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:
(7) But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
(8) But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
(9) The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Dan 10:14-16 KJV
(14) Now I am come to make thee understand what shall befall thy people in the latter days: for yet the vision is for many days.
(15) And when he had spoken such words unto me, I set my face toward the ground, and I became dumb.
(16) And, behold, one like the similitude of the sons of men touched my lips: then I opened my mouth, and spake, and said unto him that stood before me, O my lord, by the vision my sorrows are turned upon me, and I have retained no strength.

In this passage (verse 14) we once again find one of this ministry's favorite words. As usual for those who might not have made themselves familiar with the Hebrew meanings for "latter" we will once again show the word study.

Dan 10:14 KJV
(14) Now I am come to make thee understand what shall befall thy people in the latter(H319)days: for yet the vision is for many days.

H319
אחרית 'achărı̂yth
akh-ar-eeth'
From H310; the last or end, hence the future; also posterity: - (last, latter) end (time), hinder (utter) -most, length, posterity, remnant, residue, reward.

H310
אחר 'achar
akh-ar'
From H309; properly the hind part; generally used as an adverb or conjugation, after (in various senses): - after (that, -ward), again, at, away from, back (from, -side), behind, beside, by, follow (after, -ing), forasmuch, from, hereafter, hinder end, + out (over) live, + persecute, posterity, pursuing, remnant, seeing, since, thence [-forth], when, with.

The main purpose for spotlighting this word repeatedly is in order to attract witness to the extremities of time provided in the prophecy. Much like some of the connections of scripture we put forth in our last section of chapter 9. As we move ahead into verse 15 we see Daniel overcome by what is unfolding in front of him.

Dan 10:15-16 KJV
(15) And when he had spoken such words unto me, I set my face toward the ground, and I became dumb.
(16) And, behold, one like the similitude of the sons of men touched my lips: then I opened my mouth, and spake, and said unto him that stood before me, O my lord, by the vision my sorrows are turned upon me, and I have retained no strength.

The act of touching the lips seems to also have its place for patterns in scripture especially in relationship with the prophets.

Isa 6:1-9 KJV
(1) In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple.
(2) Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly.
(3) And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.
(4) And the posts of the door moved at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke.
(5) Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts.
(6) Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar:
(7) And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged.
(8) Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.
(9) And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not.

Jer 1:4-9 KJV
(4) Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
(5) Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.
(6) Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child.
(7) But the LORD said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak.
(8) Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the LORD.
(9) Then the LORD put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the LORD said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth.

Eze 3:23-27 KJV
(23) Then I arose, and went forth into the plain: and, behold, the glory of the LORD stood there, as the glory which I saw by the river of Chebar: and I fell on my face.
(24) Then the spirit entered into me, and set me upon my feet, and spake with me, and said unto me, Go, shut thyself within thine house.
(25) But thou, O son of man, behold, they shall put bands upon thee, and shall bind thee with them, and thou shalt not go out among them:
(26) And I will make thy tongue cleave to the roof of thy mouth, that thou shalt be dumb, and shalt not be to them a reprover: for they are a rebellious house.
(27) But when I speak with thee, I will open thy mouth, and thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; He that heareth, let him hear; and he that forbeareth, let him forbear: for they are a rebellious house.

Mat 12:22 KJV
(22) Then was brought unto him one possessed with a devil, blind, and dumb: and he healed him, insomuch that the blind and dumb both spake and saw.

Luk 21:15-16 KJV
(15) For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.
(16) And ye shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death.

This last couple of verses more or less says all things when it comes to the prophets or ourselves. We most certainly read and understand it to be true with the prophets from the examples we used above. Sometimes God opens our mouths to prophesy and sometimes to testify. In reality both of these could easily fit into the same category when we are talking of the prophets. Most importantly when we are talking or studying the words of Jesus our Savior.

Rev 19:9-11 KJV
(9) And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.
(10) And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.
(11) And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.

Dan 10:17-19 KJV
(17) For how can the servant of this my lord talk with this my lord? for as for me, straightway there remained no strength in me, neither is there breath left in me.
(18) Then there came again and touched me one like the appearance of a man, and he strengthened me,
(19) And said, O man greatly beloved, fear not: peace be unto thee, be strong, yea, be strong. And when he had spoken unto me, I was strengthened, and said, Let my lord speak; for thou hast strengthened me.

In this we have another pattern of prophecy that falls into the category of spiritual warfare. Here we have Daniel in a state of weakness in fear of what he is witnessing. As we looked at earlier Daniel has a great admiration from God for his extreme faith. We can all be strengthened by the Holy Spirit as believers in Jesus. The scripture presents a situation in which Jesus Himself was strengthened by ministering angels just as Daniel is here. We will offer examples of these situations just as we have the others as it makes good preparation for spiritual warfare.

Jdg 6:22-24 KJV
(22) And when Gideon perceived that he was an angel of the LORD, Gideon said, Alas, O Lord GOD! for because I have seen an angel of the LORD face to face.
(23) And the LORD said unto him, Peace be unto thee; fear not: thou shalt not die.
(24) Then Gideon built an altar there unto the LORD, and called it Jehovahshalom: unto this day it is yet in Ophrah of the Abiezrites.

In the case of Gideon who was chosen to lead Israel in battle against the Midianites.

Isa 41:9-14 KJV
(9) Thou whom I have taken from the ends of the earth, and called thee from the chief men thereof, and said unto thee, Thou art my servant; I have chosen thee, and not cast thee away.
(10) Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
(11) Behold, all they that were incensed against thee shall be ashamed and confounded: they shall be as nothing; and they that strive with thee shall perish.
(12) Thou shalt seek them, and shalt not find them, even them that contended with thee: they that war against thee shall be as nothing, and as a thing of nought.
(13) For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.
(14) Fear not, thou worm Jacob, and ye men of Israel; I will help thee, saith the LORD, and thy redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.

Again we have words of strength in a prophetic statement concerning the enemies of Israel.

Luk 22:39-44 KJV
(39) And he came out, and went, as he was wont, to the mount of Olives; and his disciples also followed him.
(40) And when he was at the place, he said unto them, Pray that ye enter not into temptation.
(41) And he was withdrawn from them about a stone's cast, and kneeled down, and prayed,
(42) Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.
(43) And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him.
(44) And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.

In the knowledge of what needed to be done to save mankind Jesus was allowed by God to be overcome with grief and agony. However as we see the Lord sent an angel to strengthen Jesus. As we will discover in the following passage this is no less than a fulfillment of prophecy once again found in the Psalms.

Psa 138:1-3 KJV
(1) A Psalm of David. I will praise thee with my whole heart: before the gods will I sing praise unto thee.
(2) I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.
(3) In the day when I cried thou answeredst me, and strengthenedst me with strength in my soul.

Dan 10:19-21 KJV
(19) And said, O man greatly beloved, fear not: peace be unto thee, be strong, yea, be strong. And when he had spoken unto me, I was strengthened, and said, Let my lord speak; for thou hast strengthened me.
(20) Then said he, Knowest thou wherefore I come unto thee? and now will I return to fight with the prince of Persia: and when I am gone forth, lo, the prince of Grecia shall come.
(21) But I will shew thee that which is noted in the scripture of truth: and there is none that holdeth with me in these things, but Michael your prince.

The main emphasis of this chapter is the realm of spiritual warfare. We have discovered through studies of both testaments how there are battles fought in the spiritual world unseen by us. The fact that every empire of biblical prophecy had an evil principality spirit watching over it. Most of our side studies we looked into concerning the ordeal of Daniel in this chapter all had things in common with each other. They consisted of periods of Israel's history when dealing with their enemies or with the future of the nation. We explored biblical history dating from the time of the flood until the time of the apostles and the book of Revelation. The main thing the scripture teaches us is to have a fear of the Lord. In doing so we can gain understanding of what the Lord allows us to.

Psa 25:14 KJV
(14) The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant.

Psa 33:8 KJV
(8) Let all the earth fear the LORD: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him.

Psa 33:18 KJV
(18) Behold, the eye of the LORD is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy;

Pro 1:5-7 KJV
(5) A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels:
(6) To understand a proverb, and the interpretation; the words of the wise, and their dark sayings.
(7) The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Pro 1:29-31 KJV
(29) For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD:
(30) They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof.
(31) Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices.

The one thing we can say about all the passages we looked at is that all the different individuals involved had a deep fear of the Lord. This fear of the Lord is what establishes His communication with all of us. We discovered how God sent His Son Jesus an angel to comfort and strengthen Him. We also have this type of luxury because of the price Jesus paid for the entire world before, during and after His 1st  coming.

Joh 14:14-18 KJV
(14) If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.
(15) If ye love me, keep my commandments.
(16) And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
(17) Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
(18) I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.

Joh 14:24-28 KJV
(24) He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.
(25) These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you.
(26) But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
(27) Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
(28) Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.

Joh 15:25-27 KJV
(25) But this cometh to pass, that the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law, They hated me without a cause.
(26) But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:
(27) And ye also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning.

Joh 16:7-12 KJV
(7) Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.
(8) And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:
(9) Of sin, because they believe not on me;
(10) Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;
(11) Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.
(12) I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now.

Even Jesus informs us that the battle and the judgement of the prince of this world exists. Again we have our Savior making reference to the subject of the warfare involving principality spirits.

1Co 16:13 KJV
(13) Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong.

Eph 6:10 KJV
(10) Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

2Ti 2:1 KJV
(1) Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.

As always thank You and God Bless
