Welcome to the World of Biblical Prophecy for History and Today

This Blog is intended to help myself and others gain the best understanding of the world around us through exploration of prophetic scripture. The Bible is the text book. Through these studies we will hopefully provide understanding to both believer and unbeliever alike. The way our God and our Savior Jesus distinguish themselves in the spiritual world is through prophetic means. In other words what the Bible teaches us through fullfillment of these prophecies shows us the truth. Let's take some prophetic journeys through history and at the same time learn about the world around us today. Please try and be patient with any typographical errors as I am my own typist and my own research staff. Thanks

Zechariah 2:8-9 and Isaiah 47

Zechariah 2:8-9
Isaiah 47
Regarding Babylon

The New Heaven and the New Earth

Rev 21:1-8 KJV  And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.  (2)  And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.  (3)  And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.  (4)  And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.  (5)  And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.  (6)  And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.  (7)  He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.  (8)  But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

Rev 9:14-21 KJV  Saying to the sixth angel which had the trumpet, Loose the four angels which are bound in the great river Euphrates.  (15)  And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, for to slay the third part of men.  (16)  And the number of the army of the horsemen were two hundred thousand thousand: and I heard the number of them.  (17)  And thus I saw the horses in the vision, and them that sat on them, having breastplates of fire, and of jacinth, and brimstone: and the heads of the horses were as the heads of lions; and out of their mouths issued fire and smoke and brimstone.  (18)  By these three was the third part of men killed, by the fire, and by the smoke, and by the brimstone, which issued out of their mouths.  (19)  For their power is in their mouth, and in their tails: for their tails were like unto serpents, and had heads, and with them they do hurt.  (20)  And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk:  (21)  Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts.

Zec 2:8-9 KJV  For thus saith the LORD of hosts; After the glory hath he sent me unto the nations which spoiled you: for he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye.  (9)  For, behold, I will shake mine hand upon them, and they shall be a spoil to their servants: and ye shall know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me.

The Humiliation of Babylon

Isa 47:1-15 KJV  Come down, and sit in the dust, O virgin daughter of Babylon, sit on the ground: there is no throne, O daughter of the Chaldeans: for thou shalt no more be called tender and delicate.  (2)  Take the millstones, and grind meal: uncover thy locks, make bare the leg, uncover the thigh, pass over the rivers.  (3)  Thy nakedness shall be uncovered, yea, thy shame shall be seen: I will take vengeance, and I will not meet thee as a man.  (4)  As for our redeemer, the LORD of hosts is his name, the Holy One of Israel.  (5)  Sit thou silent, and get thee into darkness, O daughter of the Chaldeans: for thou shalt no more be called, The lady of kingdoms.  (6)  I was wroth with my people, I have polluted mine inheritance, and given them into thine hand: thou didst shew them no mercy; upon the ancient hast thou very heavily laid thy yoke.  (7)  And thou saidst, I shall be a lady for ever: so that thou didst not lay these things to thy heart, neither didst remember the latter end of it.  (8)  Therefore hear now this, thou that art given to pleasures, that dwellest carelessly, that sayest in thine heart, I am, and none else beside me; I shall not sit as a widow, neither shall I know the loss of children:  (9)  But these two things shall come to thee in a moment in one day, the loss of children, and widowhood: they shall come upon thee in their perfection for the multitude of thy sorceries, and for the great abundance of thine enchantments.  (10)  For thou hast trusted in thy wickedness: thou hast said, None seeth me. Thy wisdom and thy knowledge, it hath perverted thee; and thou hast said in thine heart, I am, and none else beside me.  (11)  Therefore shall evil come upon thee; thou shalt not know from whence it riseth: and mischief shall fall upon thee; thou shalt not be able to put it off: and desolation shall come upon thee suddenly, which thou shalt not know.  (12)  Stand now with thine enchantments, and with the multitude of thy sorceries, wherein thou hast laboured from thy youth; if so be thou shalt be able to profit, if so be thou mayest prevail.  (13)  Thou art wearied in the multitude of thy counsels. Let now the astrologers, the stargazers, the monthly prognosticators, stand up, and save thee from these things that shall come upon thee.  (14)  Behold, they shall be as stubble; the fire shall burn them; they shall not deliver themselves from the power of the flame: there shall not be a coal to warm at, nor fire to sit before it.  (15)  Thus shall they be unto thee with whom thou hast laboured, even thy merchants, from thy youth: they shall wander every one to his quarter; none shall save thee.

Isa 47:1-3 KJV  Come down, and sit in the dust, O virgin daughter of Babylon, sit on the ground: there is no throne, O daughter of the Chaldeans: for thou shalt no more be called tender and delicate.

As some may have noticed in scripture when God is dealing with certain cities or territories He often uses the word daughter as a reference. If you are familiar enough with the Bible you know He has done this regarding Jerusalem, Babylon and some may have even noticed Edom.

Here we also see that God does this with the Chaldeans as a separate announcement from that of Babylon. The Chaldeans were somewhat liken to the stoic philosophers of Greece. Here it looks as though God is preparing to deal them quite a change in their daily affairs of debating what God is. Let’s Refer to john Wesley’s notes on the matter of millstones.

John Wesley’s notes on the Bible

Millstones - Thou shalt be brought to the basest slavery, which grinding at the mill was esteemed. For this work was not performed by horses, as now it is, but by the labour of slaves and captives. Grind - Grind bread - corn into meal for thy master's use. Uncover - Take off the ornaments wherewith such women as were of good quality, used to cover and dress their heads. These are predictions of what they should be forced to do or suffer. Thigh - Gird up thy garments close and short about thee, that thou mayest be fit for travelling on foot, and for passing over those rivers, through which thou wilt be constrained to wade, in the way to the land of thy captivity.

We did a search for the phrase “daughter of Babylon” and got the following results.

Psa_137:8  O daughter of Babylon, who art to be destroyed; happy shall he be, that rewardeth thee as thou hast served us.

Isa_47:1  Come down, and sit in the dust, O virgin daughter of Babylon, sit on the ground: there is no throne, O daughter of the Chaldeans: for thou shalt no more be called tender and delicate.

Jer_50:42  They shall hold the bow and the lance: they are cruel, and will not shew mercy: their voice shall roar like the sea, and they shall ride upon horses, every one put in array, like a man to the battle, against thee, O daughter of Babylon.

Jer_51:33  For thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; The daughter of Babylon is like a threshingfloor, it is time to thresh her: yet a little while, and the time of her harvest shall come.

Zec_2:7  Deliver thyself, O Zion, that dwellest with the daughter of Babylon.

By the way did anyone happen to notice that every verse above was with regard to the destruction of Babylon or Israel's freedom.

How Shall We Sing the Lord's Song?

Psa 137:1-9 KJV  By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down, yea, we wept, when we remembered Zion.  (2)  We hanged our harps upon the willows in the midst thereof.  (3)  For there they that carried us away captive required of us a song; and they that wasted us required of us mirth, saying, Sing us one of the songs of Zion.  (4)  How shall we sing the LORD'S song in a strange land?  (5)  If I forget thee, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget her cunning.  (6)  If I do not remember thee, let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth; if I prefer not Jerusalem above my chief joy.  (7)  Remember, O LORD, the children of Edom in the day of Jerusalem; who said, Rase it, rase it, even to the foundation thereof.  (8)  O daughter of Babylon, who art to be destroyed; happy shall he be, that rewardeth thee as thou hast served us.  (9)  Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones.

We see here that the descendants of Esau (Edom) were all for the destruction of Israel and Jerusalem. As we referenced in chapter 2

Zec 2:7 KJV  Deliver thyself, O Zion, that dwellest with the daughter of Babylon.

We also will see this address to Babylon if the Lord gives us long enough to develop Jeremiah’s prophecies in chapters 50 and 51 specifically.

A word search on Chaldeans provided 66 verses and 66 matches.

One we felt compelled to share which we found very interesting was in Isaiah 23.

Isa 23:13 KJV  Behold the land of the Chaldeans; this people was not, till the Assyrian founded it for them that dwell in the wilderness: they set up the towers thereof, they raised up the palaces thereof; and he brought it to ruin.

Let’s check out John Wesley’s notes on the Bible regarding Isaiah 23:13.
Isaiah 23:13

Behold - Thou Tyrians, cast your eyes upon the Chaldeans or Babylonians; who tho' now flourishing, grow far more glorious and potent, even the glory of kingdoms, yet shall certainly be brought to utter ruin. This people - The Chaldeans at first were not a people, not formed into any commonwealth or kingdom, 'till Nimrod, the head and founder of the Assyrian monarchy, built Babel, Gen 10:9-10, now the head of the Chaldean monarchy; which he built for those people, who then lived in tents, and were dispersed here and there in waste places. He - The Lord. To ruin - Will infallibly bring that great empire to ruin. He speaks of a future thing as if it were already past.

It was also the Chaldeans that took Job’s camels away from him.

Job 1:17 KJV  While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, The Chaldeans made out three bands, and fell upon the camels, and have carried them away, yea, and slain the servants with the edge of the sword; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.

Isa 47:4 KJV  As for our redeemer, the LORD of hosts is his name, the Holy One of Israel.

The phrase our redeemer is found in only two passages of scripture. This is not saying that this is the only place where our redeemer is mentioned pardon the play with words. The exact phrase is found here in Isaiah 47. The other is found in Isaiah also in chapter 63.

Prayer for Mercy

Isa 63:15-19 KJV  Look down from heaven, and behold from the habitation of thy holiness and of thy glory: where is thy zeal and thy strength, the sounding of thy bowels and of thy mercies toward me? are they restrained?  (16)  Doubtless thou art our father, though Abraham be ignorant of us, and Israel acknowledge us not: thou, O LORD, art our father, our redeemer; thy name is from everlasting.  (17)  O LORD, why hast thou made us to err from thy ways, and hardened our heart from thy fear? Return for thy servants' sake, the tribes of thine inheritance.  (18)  The people of thy holiness have possessed it but a little while: our adversaries have trodden down thy sanctuary.  (19)  We are thine: thou never barest rule over them; they were not called by thy name.

The word redeemer is found 18 times in 18 verses including the 2 we referenced above. The same Hebrew word is used in the KJV throughout the list of verses. We will start with a look at Job and take a look at this word redeemer.

Psa 19:14 KJV  Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.
In a verse from our acharon studies we get he following verse from Psalm 78.

Psa 78:35 KJV  And they remembered that God was their rock, and the high God their redeemer.

Isa_41:14  Fear not, thou worm Jacob, and ye men of Israel; I will help thee, saith the LORD, and thy redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.

Isa_43:14  Thus saith the LORD, your redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; For your sake I have sent to Babylon, and have brought down all their nobles, and the Chaldeans, whose cry is in the ships.

This particular verse was penned at least 140 years or so before the fall of Babylon.

The above verse from another passage we recently explored in our Zechariah 2:8-9 studies.

Isa_44:6  Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.

Isa_44:24  Thus saith the LORD, thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I am the LORD that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself;

We won’t open all the verses at this time so we will stop at our present location in Isaiah 47. Let’s just say if the Lord sees fit we will get to some of the other passages as time permits.

Isa 47:5-7 KJV  Sit thou silent, and get thee into darkness, O daughter of the Chaldeans: for thou shalt no more be called, The lady of kingdoms.  (6)  I was wroth with my people, I have polluted mine inheritance, and given them into thine hand: thou didst shew them no mercy; upon the ancient hast thou very heavily laid thy yoke.  (7)  And thou saidst, I shall be a lady for ever: so that thou didst not lay these things to thy heart, neither didst remember the latterH319 end of it.

If you ever familiarize yourself with the atrocities committed by the Darwinist leaders of the 2oth century you discover something. That being that the idea of punishing people with forced labor was a custom many centuries ago. Check out some documentaries regarding the following list of people. When you see what was actually being done to people of old age in many cases will explain what God was warning the Babylonians about 6 centuries before Jesus or Yeshua.

Some no doubt are asking what do you mean brother Al when you say Darwinist? Well we (all here within this ministry) mean people like Hitler, Stalin, the Japanese regimes of WWI AND WWII, Pol Pot and Mao just to name a few. They all had 1 very common belief amongst them. That belief being evolution. Friends quite simply the above mentioned “men”? were responsible for over 100 million deaths in the 20th century alone. Every one got the bright idea "hey you know what we are more evolved than the people we want to kill, destroy or enslave so let's go get them.

These folks mentioned above did not pay any attention to age, sex or physical condition. They just worked you until you dropped dead. However as we stated above punishing people old or young goes all the way back to the days of Nimrod in Genesis 10. We will not develop this out at this time. The apocryphal books tell us that there was much warfare in those days as much as now. What ever worth you wish to put on that info is up to you. There is no reason to believe the demonic lust for power then was not even worse than now.

Next time someone asks or even tells you that “look at all the wars fought in God’s name” remind the person(s) that there are many gods in this world. The 1 we know from the Bible predicted all the chaos caused by the satanic evolutionists above. He (God the Father or Abba) was not the cause and His Son, our Savior and King Yeshua or Jesus certainly was  not the cause.

Of course our first real good example of this mistreatment comes from Egypt’s history with the Hebrew people.

Exo 1:1-7 KJV  Now these are the names of the children of Israel, which came into Egypt; every man and his household came with Jacob.  (2)  Reuben, Simeon, Levi, and Judah,  (3)  Issachar, Zebulun, and Benjamin,  (4)  Dan, and Naphtali, Gad, and Asher.  (5)  And all the souls that came out of the loins of Jacob were seventy souls: for Joseph was in Egypt already.  (6)  And Joseph died, and all his brethren, and all that generation.  (7)  And the children of Israel were fruitful, and increased abundantly, and multiplied, and waxed exceeding mighty; and the land was filled with them.

Pharaoh Oppresses Israel
Exo 1:8-14 KJV  Now there arose up a new king over Egypt, which knew not Joseph.  (9)  And he said unto his people, Behold, the people of the children of Israel are more and mightier than we:  (10)  Come on, let us deal wisely with them; lest they multiply, and it come to pass, that, when there falleth out any war, they join also unto our enemies, and fight against us, and so get them up out of the land.  (11)  Therefore they did set over them taskmasters to afflict them with their burdens. And they built for Pharaoh treasure cities, Pithom and Raamses.  (12)  But the more they afflicted them, the more they multiplied and grew. And they were grieved because of the children of Israel.  (13)  And the Egyptians made the children of Israel to serve with rigour:  (14)  And they made their lives bitter with hard bondage, in morter, and in brick, and in all manner of service in the field: all their service, wherein they made them serve, was with rigourH6531.

Children of Israel in Egypt (1867 painting by Edward Poynter)

Exo 1:15-22 KJV  And the king of Egypt spake to the Hebrew midwives, of which the name of the one was Shiphrah, and the name of the other Puah:  (16)  And he said, When ye do the office of a midwife to the Hebrew women, and see them upon the stools; if it be a son, then ye shall kill him: but if it be a daughter, then she shall live.  (17)  But the midwives feared God, and did not as the king of Egypt commanded them, but saved the men children alive.  (18)  And the king of Egypt called for the midwives, and said unto them, Why have ye done this thing, and have saved the men children alive?  (19)  And the midwives said unto Pharaoh, Because the Hebrew women are not as the Egyptian women; for they are lively, and are delivered ere the midwives come in unto them.  (20)  Therefore God dealt well with the midwives: and the people multiplied, and waxed very mighty.  (21)  And it came to pass, because the midwives feared God, that he made them houses.  (22)  And Pharaoh charged all his people, saying, Every son that is born ye shall cast into the river, and every daughter ye shall save alive.

In actuality Egypt set the tone for the plight of Israel and their ordeals. We have found in the realm of biblical prophecy that Egypt and Assyria are overlooked as empires quite a bit. They are very much part of the beast of Revelation 17. We will not develop that in this journey. There is plenty of it spread across the website. In particular the Daniel extremity studies.

All of Israel was contained within Egypt in the days of Joseph and Jacob.

(Gen 37:36 KJV)  And the Midianites sold him into Egypt unto Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh's, and captain of the guard.

Joseph Brings His Family to Egypt

Gen 46:1-7 KJV  And Israel took his journey with all that he had, and came to Beersheba, and offered sacrifices unto the God of his father Isaac.  (2)  And God spake unto Israel in the visions of the night, and said, Jacob, Jacob. And he said, Here am I.  (3)  And he said, I am God, the God of thy father: fear not to go down into Egypt; for I will there make of thee a great nation:  (4)  I will go down with thee into Egypt; and I will also surely bring thee up again: and Joseph shall put his hand upon thine eyes.  (5)  And Jacob rose up from Beersheba: and the sons of Israel carried Jacob their father, and their little ones, and their wives, in the wagons which Pharaoh had sent to carry him.  (6)  And they took their cattle, and their goods, which they had gotten in the land of Canaan, and came into Egypt, Jacob, and all his seed with him:  (7)  His sons, and his sons' sons with him, his daughters, and his sons' daughters, and all his seed brought he with him into Egypt.

Gen 37:2 KJV  These are the generations of Jacob. Joseph, being seventeen years old, was feeding the flock with his brethren; and the lad was with the sons of Bilhah, and with the sons of Zilpah, his father's wives: and Joseph brought unto his father their evil report.

Gen 41:46 KJV  And Joseph was thirty years old when he stood before Pharaoh king of Egypt. And Joseph went out from the presence of Pharaoh, and went throughout all the land of Egypt.

OK friends are you with the math here? There are 13 years gone by here for Joseph.

Now let's see what's up with Jacob in Egypt

Gen 47:7-10 KJV  And Joseph brought in Jacob his father, and set him before Pharaoh: and Jacob blessed Pharaoh.  (8)  And Pharaoh said unto Jacob, How old art thou?  (9)  And Jacob said unto Pharaoh, The days of the years of my pilgrimage are an hundred and thirty years: few and evil have the days of the years of my life been, and have not attained unto the days of the years of the life of my fathers in the days of their pilgrimage.  (10)  And Jacob blessed Pharaoh, and went out from before Pharaoh.

Gen 47:28-31 KJV  And Jacob lived in the land of Egypt seventeen years: so the whole age of Jacob was an hundred forty and seven years.  (29)  And the time drew nigh that Israel must die: and he called his son Joseph, and said unto him, If now I have found grace in thy sight, put, I pray thee, thy hand under my thigh, and deal kindly and truly with me; bury me not, I pray thee, in Egypt:  (30)  But I will lie with my fathers, and thou shalt carry me out of Egypt, and bury me in their buryingplace. And he said, I will do as thou hast said.  (31)  And he said, Swear unto me. And he sware unto him. And Israel bowed himself upon the bed's head.

Gal 3:13-17 KJV  Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:  (14)  That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.  (15)  Brethren, I speak after the manner of men; Though it be but a man's covenant, yet if it be confirmed, no man disannulleth, or addeth thereto.  (16)  Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.  (17)  And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect.

Also we know how things worked out for the Egyptians at the end of the captivity.

Exo 14:26-31 KJV  And the LORD said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand over the sea, that the waters may come again upon the Egyptians, upon their chariots, and upon their horsemen.  (27)  And Moses stretched forth his hand over the sea, and the sea returned to his strength when the morning appeared; and the Egyptians fled against it; and the LORD overthrew the Egyptians in the midst of the sea.  (28)  And the waters returned, and covered the chariots, and the horsemen, and all the host of Pharaoh that came into the sea after them; there remained not so much as one of them.  (29)  But the children of Israel walked upon dry land in the midst of the sea; and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left.  (30)  Thus the LORD saved Israel that day out of the hand of the Egyptians; and Israel saw the Egyptians dead upon the sea shore.  (31)  And Israel saw that great work which the LORD did upon the Egyptians: and the people feared the LORD, and believed the LORD, and his servant Moses.

Later in history Assyria scattered the northern tribes and basically brought in people to replace them even.

2Ki 17:1-12 KJV  In the twelfth year of Ahaz king of Judah began Hoshea the son of Elah to reign in Samaria over Israel nine years.  (2)  And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, but not as the kings of Israel that were before him.  (3)  Against him came up Shalmaneser king of Assyria; and Hoshea became his servant, and gave him presents.  (4)  And the king of Assyria found conspiracy in Hoshea: for he had sent messengers to So king of Egypt, and brought no present to the king of Assyria, as he had done year by year: therefore the king of Assyria shut him up, and bound him in prison.  (5)  Then the king of Assyria came up throughout all the land, and went up to Samaria, and besieged it three years.  (6)  In the ninth year of Hoshea the king of Assyria took Samaria, and carried Israel away into Assyria, and placed them in Halah and in Habor by the river of Gozan, and in the cities of the Medes.  (7)  For so it was, that the children of Israel had sinned against the LORD their God, which had brought them up out of the land of Egypt, from under the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and had feared other gods,  (8)  And walked in the statutes of the heathen, whom the LORD cast out from before the children of Israel, and of the kings of Israel, which they had made.  (9)  And the children of Israel did secretly those things that were not right against the LORD their God, and they built them high places in all their cities, from the tower of the watchmen to the fenced city.  (10)  And they set them up images and groves in every high hill, and under every green tree:  (11)  And there they burnt incense in all the high places, as did the heathen whom the LORD carried away before them; and wrought wicked things to provoke the LORD to anger:  (12)  For they served idols, whereof the LORD had said unto them, Ye shall not do this thing.

2Ki 17:13-17 KJV  Yet the LORD testified against Israel, and against Judah, by all the prophets, and by all the seers, saying, Turn ye from your evil ways, and keep my commandments and my statutes, according to all the law which I commanded your fathers, and which I sent to you by my servants the prophets.  (14)  Notwithstanding they would not hear, but hardened their necks, like to the neck of their fathers, that did not believe in the LORD their God.  (15)  And they rejected his statutes, and his covenant that he made with their fathers, and his testimonies which he testified against them; and they followed vanity, and became vain, and went after the heathen that were round about them, concerning whom the LORD had charged them, that they should not do like them.  (16)  And they left all the commandments of the LORD their God, and made them molten images, even two calves, and made a grove, and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served Baal.  (17)  And they caused their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire, and used divination and enchantments, and sold themselves to do evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger.

2Ki 17:18-26 KJV  Therefore the LORD was very angry with Israel, and removed them out of his sight: there was none left but the tribe of Judah only.  (19)  Also Judah kept not the commandments of the LORD their God, but walked in the statutes of Israel which they made.  (20)  And the LORD rejected all the seed of Israel, and afflicted them, and delivered them into the hand of spoilers, until he had cast them out of his sight.  (21)  For he rent Israel from the house of David; and they made Jeroboam the son of Nebat king: and Jeroboam drave Israel from following the LORD, and made them sin a great sin.  (22)  For the children of Israel walked in all the sins of Jeroboam which he did; they departed not from them;  (23)  Until the LORD removed Israel out of his sight, as he had said by all his servants the prophets. So was Israel carried away out of their own land to Assyria unto this day.  (24)  And the king of Assyria brought men from Babylon, and from Cuthah, and from Ava, and from Hamath, and from Sepharvaim, and placed them in the cities of Samaria instead of the children of Israel: and they possessed Samaria, and dwelt in the cities thereof.  (25)  And so it was at the beginning of their dwelling there, that they feared not the LORD: therefore the LORD sent lions among them, which slew some of them.  (26)  Wherefore they spake to the king of Assyria, saying, The nations which thou hast removed, and placed in the cities of Samaria, know not the manner of the God of the land: therefore he hath sent lions among them, and, behold, they slay them, because they know not the manner of the God of the land.

We also know how things worked out for the Assyrians.

2Ki 19:29-37 KJV  And this shall be a sign unto thee, Ye shall eat this year such things as grow of themselves, and in the second year that which springeth of the same; and in the third year sow ye, and reap, and plant vineyards, and eat the fruits thereof.  (30)  And the remnant that is escaped of the house of Judah shall yet again take root downward, and bear fruit upward.  (31)  For out of Jerusalem shall go forth a remnant, and they that escape out of mount Zion: the zeal of the LORD of hosts shall do this.  (32)  Therefore thus saith the LORD concerning the king of Assyria, He shall not come into this city, nor shoot an arrow there, nor come before it with shield, nor cast a bank against it.  (33)  By the way that he came, by the same shall he return, and shall not come into this city, saith the LORD.  (34)  For I will defend this city, to save it, for mine own sake, and for my servant David's sake.  (35)  And it came to pass that night, that the angel of the LORD went out, and smote in the camp of the Assyrians an hundred fourscore and five thousand: and when they arose early in the morning, behold, they were all dead corpses.  (36)  So Sennacherib king of Assyria departed, and went and returned, and dwelt at Nineveh.  (37)  And it came to pass, as he was worshipping in the house of Nisroch his god, that Adrammelech and Sharezer his sons smote him with the sword: and they escaped into the land of Armenia. And Esarhaddon his son reigned in his stead.

After the Assyrians we come to the current nation or empire that we are exploring. That being Babylon. So the whole slave labor until you die thing started way back in biblical history. It’s prophetic how God the Father took a whole nation (His special one) and enslaved them. What’s amazing is that all the historical documentaries are on the television that simply regard the Israelites during these periods as slaves. They are a forgotten race of people to the world. Then we as believers get stuck with things like did the tower of Babel exist? Did Noah’s flood take place? Which any one on the planet above or upon can see the residual effects of. They are called oceans and waterways.
Any how let’s get back to Babylon and Zechariah 2:8-9. We were exploring Isaiah 47 and it’s prophetic content regarding Babylon.

Isa 47:7 KJV  And thou saidst, I shall be a lady for ever: so that thou didst not lay these things to thy heart, neither didst remember the latterH319end of it.

Dan 2:31-39 KJV  Thou, O king, sawest, and behold a great image. This great image, whose brightness was excellent, stood before thee; and the form thereof was terrible.  (32)  This image's head was of fine gold, his breast and his arms of silver, his belly and his thighs of brass,  (33)  His legs of iron, his feet part of iron and part of clay.  (34)  Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces.  (35)  Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshingfloors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them: and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth.  (36)  This is the dream; and we will tell the interpretation thereof before the king.  (37)  Thou, O king, art a king of kings: for the God of heaven hath given thee a kingdom, power, and strength, and glory.  (38)  And wheresoever the children of men dwell, the beasts of the field and the fowls of the heaven hath he given into thine hand, and hath made thee ruler over them all. Thou art this head of gold.  (39)  And after thee shall arise another kingdom inferior to thee, and another third kingdom of brass, which shall bear rule over all the earth.

We have to remember another thing here as well. That the kingdom was numbered twice. So the latter end so to speak still has some fulfillment left.

Isa 47:7-11 KJV  And thou saidst, I shall be a lady for ever: so that thou didst not lay these things to thy heart, neither didst remember the latter end of it.

Dan 5:22-31 KJV  And thou his son, O Belshazzar, hast not humbled thine heart, though thou knewest all this;  (23)  But hast lifted up thyself against the Lord of heaven; and they have brought the vessels of his house before thee, and thou, and thy lords, thy wives, and thy concubines, have drunk wine in them; and thou hast praised the gods of silver, and gold, of brass, iron, wood, and stone, which see not, nor hear, nor know: and the God in whose hand thy breath is, and whose are all thy ways, hast thou not glorified:  (24)  Then was the part of the hand sent from him; and this writing was written.  (25)  And this is the writing that was written, MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN.  (26)  This is the interpretation of the thing: MENE; God hath numbered thy kingdom, and finished it.  (27)  TEKEL; Thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting.  (28)  PERES; Thy kingdom is divided, and given to the Medes and Persians.  (29)  Then commanded Belshazzar, and they clothed Daniel with scarlet, and put a chain of gold about his neck, and made a proclamation concerning him, that he should be the third ruler in the kingdom.  (30)  In that night was Belshazzar the king of the Chaldeans slain.  (31)  And Darius the Median took the kingdom, being about threescore and two years old.

Psa 52:1-9 KJV  To the chief Musician, Maschil, A Psalm of David, when Doeg the Edomite came and told Saul, and said unto him, David is come to the house of Ahimelech. Selah.  (4)  Thou lovest all devouring words, O thou deceitful tongue.  (5)  God shall likewise destroy thee for ever, he shall take thee away, and pluck thee out of thy dwelling place, and root thee out of the land of the living. Selah.  (6)  The righteous also shall see, and fear, and shall laugh at him:  (7)  Lo, this is the man that made not God his strength; but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himself in his wickedness.  (8)  But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God: I trust in the mercy of God for ever and ever.  (9)  I will praise thee for ever, because thou hast done it: and I will wait on thy name; for it is good before thy saints.

Dan 5:7-9 KJV  The king cried aloud to bring in the astrologers, the Chaldeans, and the soothsayers. And the king spake, and said to the wise men of Babylon, Whosoever shall read this writing, and shew me the interpretation thereof, shall be clothed with scarlet, and have a chain of gold about his neck, and shall be the third ruler in the kingdom.  (8)  Then came in all the king's wise men: but they could not read the writing, nor make known to the king the interpretation thereof.  (9)  Then was king Belshazzar greatly troubled, and his countenance was changed in him, and his lords were astonied.

We explored over and over again in our Daniel studies how the psychics of the day were of ill effect at best. Same for those of the Egyptian court in Moses’ and Aaron’s day. In Daniel if you remember the so called “psychics of the day” were killed and their house destroyed for their inefficiencies. The same fate awaits our mystery version of Babylon in the book of Revelation.

Rev 18:1-8 KJV  And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory.  (2)  And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.  (3)  For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.  (4)  And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.  (5)  For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.  (6)  Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double unto her double according to her works: in the cup which she hath filled fill to her double.  (7)  How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow.  (8)  Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her.

Rev 22:1-7 KJV  And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.  (2)  In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.  (3)  And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:  (4)  And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads.  (5)  And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.  (6)  And he said unto me, These sayings are faithful and true: and the Lord God of the holy prophets sent his angel to shew unto his servants the things which must shortly be done.  (7)  Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book.

Rev 22:8-21 KJV  And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which shewed me these things.  (9)  Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God.  (10)  And he saith unto me, Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand.  (11)  He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.  (12)  And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.  (13)  I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.  (14)  Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.  (15)  For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.  (16)  I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.  (17)  And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.  (18)  For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:  (19)  And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.  (20)  He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.  (21)  The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.

Joh 16:1-16 KJV  These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be offended.  (2)  They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service.  (3)  And these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the Father, nor me.  (4)  But these things have I told you, that when the time shall come, ye may remember that I told you of them. And these things I said not unto you at the beginning, because I was with you.  (5)  But now I go my way to him that sent me; and none of you asketh me, Whither goest thou?  (6)  But because I have said these things unto you, sorrow hath filled your heart.  (7)  Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.  (8)  And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:  (9)  Of sin, because they believe not on me;  (10)  Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;  (11)  Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.  (12)  I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now.  (13)  Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.  (14)  He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.  (15)  All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.  (16)  A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me, because I go to the Father.
