Welcome to the World of Biblical Prophecy for History and Today

This Blog is intended to help myself and others gain the best understanding of the world around us through exploration of prophetic scripture. The Bible is the text book. Through these studies we will hopefully provide understanding to both believer and unbeliever alike. The way our God and our Savior Jesus distinguish themselves in the spiritual world is through prophetic means. In other words what the Bible teaches us through fullfillment of these prophecies shows us the truth. Let's take some prophetic journeys through history and at the same time learn about the world around us today. Please try and be patient with any typographical errors as I am my own typist and my own research staff. Thanks

Isaiah Factor 14:1-23 The Spiritual King of Babylon

Isaiah Factor 14:1-23
The Spiritual King of Babylon

In You Do I Take Refuge

Psa 7:1-7  Shiggaion of David, which he sang unto the LORD, concerning the words of Cush the Benjamite. O LORD my God, in thee do I put my trust: save me from all them that persecute me, and deliver me:  (2)  Lest he tear my soul like a lion, rending it in pieces, while there is none to deliver.  (3)  O LORD my God, if I have done this; if there be iniquity in my hands;  (4)  If I have rewarded evil unto him that was at peace with me; (yea, I have delivered him that without cause is mine enemy:)  (5)  Let the enemy persecute my soul, and take it; yea, let him tread down my life upon the earth, and lay mine honour in the dust. Selah.  (6)  Arise, O LORD, in thine anger, lift up thyself because of the rage of mine enemies: and awake for me to the judgment that thou hast commanded.  (7)  So shall the congregation of the people compass thee about: for their sakes therefore return thou on high.

Ecc 1:9-11 KJV  The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.  (10)  Is there any thing whereof it may be said, See, this is new? it hath been already of old time, which was before us.  (11)  There is no remembrance of former things; neither shall there be any remembrance of things that are to come with those that shall come after.

Ecc 3:14-15 KJV  I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him.  (15)  That which hath been is now; and that which is to be hath already been; and God requireth that which is past.

Ecc 3:16-17 KJV  And moreover I saw under the sun the place of judgment, that wickedness was there; and the place of righteousness, that iniquity was there.  (17)  I said in mine heart, God shall judge the righteous and the wicked: for there is a time there for every purpose and for every work.

Christ Came to Fulfill the Law

Mat 5:17-20 KJV  Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.  (18)  For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.  (19)  Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.  (20)  For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.

Mat 5:17 KJV  Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

The Example of Christ

Rom 15:1-7  We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves.  (2)  Let every one of us please his neighbour for his good to edification.  (3)  For even Christ pleased not himself; but, as it is written, The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell on me.  (4)  For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.  (5)  Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus:  (6)  That ye may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.  (7)  Wherefore receive ye one another, as Christ also received us to the glory of God.

Rom 15:4  For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.

Hello once again Friends. We are going back into our looks into Isaiah. We have arrived at chapter 14. We will discover this very prophetic passage has far reaching effects. It also is a prophecy given in 3 parts. We may make a study on each 1 of these judgments. Just like many others in Isaiah we have the historical account of Isaiah’s time. We will once again discover that the reaching quality of these prophecies to the end of the age. Remember we started the judgment against Babylon starting in chapter 13. We will refresh ourselves with this final passage in the chapter.

Isa 13:19-22  And Babylon, the glory of kingdoms, the beauty of the Chaldees' excellency, shall be as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah.  (20)  It shall never be inhabited, neither shall it be dwelt in from generation to generation: neither shall the Arabian pitch tent there; neither shall the shepherds make their fold there.  (21)  But wild beasts of the desert shall lie there; and their houses shall be full of doleful creatures; and owls shall dwell there, and satyrs shall dance there.  (22)  And the wild beasts of the islands shall cry in their desolate houses, and dragons in their pleasant palaces: and her time is near to come, and her days shall not be prolonged.

The Restoration of Jacob

Isa 14:1-2  For the LORD will have mercy on Jacob, and will yet choose Israel, and set them in their own land: and the strangers shall be joined with them, and they shall cleave to the house of Jacob.  (2)  And the people shall take them, and bring them to their place: and the house of Israel shall possess them in the land of the LORD for servants and handmaids: and they shall take them captives, whose captives they were; and they shall rule over their oppressors.

Israel's Remnant Taunts Babylon

Isa 14:3-8  And it shall come to pass in the day that the LORD shall give thee rest from thy sorrow, and from thy fear, and from the hard bondage wherein thou wast made to serve,  (4)  That thou shalt take up this proverb against the king of Babylon, and say, How hath the oppressor ceased! the golden city ceased!  (5)  The LORD hath broken the staff of the wicked, and the sceptre of the rulers.  (6)  He who smote the people in wrath with a continual stroke, he that ruled the nations in anger, is persecuted, and none hindereth.  (7)  The whole earth is at rest, and is quiet: they break forth into singing.  (8)  Yea, the fir trees rejoice at thee, and the cedars of Lebanon, saying, Since thou art laid down, no feller is come up against us.

Isa 14:9-14  Hell from beneath is moved for thee to meet thee at thy coming: it stirreth up the dead for thee, even all the chief ones of the earth; it hath raised up from their thrones all the kings of the nations.  (10)  All they shall speak and say unto thee, Art thou also become weak as we? art thou become like unto us?  (11)  Thy pomp is brought down to the grave, and the noise of thy viols: the worm is spread under thee, and the worms cover thee.  (12)  How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!  (13)  For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:  (14)  I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.

Isa 14:15-20  Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.  (16)  They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms;  (17)  That made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; that opened not the house of his prisoners?  (18)  All the kings of the nations, even all of them, lie in glory, every one in his own house.  (19)  But thou art cast out of thy grave like an abominable branch, and as the raiment of those that are slain, thrust through with a sword, that go down to the stones of the pit; as a carcase trodden under feet.  (20)  Thou shalt not be joined with them in burial, because thou hast destroyed thy land, and slain thy people: the seed of evildoers shall never be renowned.

An Oracle Concerning Assyria

Isa 14:24-27  The LORD of hosts hath sworn, saying, Surely as I have thought, so shall it come to pass; and as I have purposed, so shall it stand:  (25)  That I will break the Assyrian in my land, and upon my mountains tread him under foot: then shall his yoke depart from off them, and his burden depart from off their shoulders.  (26)  This is the purpose that is purposed upon the whole earth: and this is the hand that is stretched out upon all the nations.  (27)  For the LORD of hosts hath purposed, and who shall disannul it? and his hand is stretched out, and who shall turn it back?

An Oracle Concerning Philistia

Isa 14:28-32  In the year that king Ahaz died was this burden.  (29)  Rejoice not thou, whole Palestina, because the rod of him that smote thee is broken: for out of the serpent's root shall come forth a cockatrice, and his fruit shall be a fiery flying serpent.  (30)  And the firstborn of the poor shall feed, and the needy shall lie down in safety: and I will kill thy root with famine, and he shall slay thy remnant.  (31)  Howl, O gate; cry, O city; thou, whole Palestina, art dissolved: for there shall come from the north a smoke, and none shall be alone in his appointed times.  (32)  What shall one then answer the messengers of the nation? That the LORD hath founded Zion, and the poor of his people shall trust in it.

The Restoration of Jacob

Isa 14:1-2  For the LORD will have mercy on Jacob, and will yet choose Israel, and set them in their own land: and the strangersH1616shall be joined with them, and they shall cleave to the house of Jacob.  (2)  And the people shall take them, and bring them to their place: and the house of Israel shall possess them in the land of the LORD for servants and handmaids: and they shall take them captives, whose captives they were; and they shall rule over their oppressors.

In many other journeys and from many different angles we have explored the birth of Israel in 1948. This prophetic passage we feel is about that restoration in addition to being a very big future in the coming kingdom. We have been exploring the subject of the remnant. We have explored the subject Isaiah chapters 1, 10 and 11 thus far. It is a common found subject throughout scripture. Verse 1 tells us 2 things. One that Israel will be back in their land. The other that there will be strangers located there with them.

strangersH1616
גֵּיר    גֵּר
gêr    gêyr
gare, gare  From H1481; properly a guest; by implication a foreigner: - alien, sojourner, stranger.  Total KJV occurrences: 92

In this instance we would be referring to the converts that came out of Babylon with them. In a way Daniel and his friends evangelized the known world as it existed in their day. There were many different people’s from many different lands no doubt held in the kingdom as the Jews were. Esther served much the same purpose as well. Many of these people no doubt became converts we imagine. Daniel’s influence extended into the Medes and Persians empire as well.

Verse 2 tells us that the captors would be the captives. They were snared up by the awesome deeds of ABBA Father. Remember Isaiah is being shown all this by ABBA Father well over 100 years before the Babylonians began their siege and take Daniel and his friends to Babylon.

Daniel Taken to Babylon

Dan 1:1-7  In the third year of the reign of Jehoiakim king of Judah came Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon unto Jerusalem, and besieged it.  (2)  And the Lord gave Jehoiakim king of Judah into his hand, with part of the vessels of the house of God: which he carried into the land of Shinar to the house of his god; and he brought the vessels into the treasure house of his god.  (3)  And the king spake unto Ashpenaz the master of his eunuchs, that he should bring certain of the children of Israel, and of the king's seed, and of the princes;  (4)  Children in whom was no blemish, but well favoured, and skilful in all wisdom, and cunning in knowledge, and understanding science, and such as had ability in them to stand in the king's palace, and whom they might teach the learning and the tongue of the Chaldeans.  (5)  And the king appointed them a daily provision of the king's meat, and of the wine which he drank: so nourishing them three years, that at the end thereof they might stand before the king.  (6)  Now among these were of the children of Judah, Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah:  (7)  Unto whom the prince of the eunuchs gave names: for he gave unto Daniel the name of Belteshazzar; and to Hananiah, of Shadrach; and to Mishael, of Meshach; and to Azariah, of Abednego.

Now the future context to the prophecy comes into play.

Israel's Remnant Taunts Babylon

Isa 14:3-7  And it shall come to pass in the day that the LORD shall give thee rest from thy sorrow, and from thy fear, and from the hard bondage wherein thou wast made to serve,  (4)  That thou shalt take up this proverb against the kingH4428of Babylon, and say, How hath the oppressor ceased! the golden city ceased!

This is the exact same situation the world is looking at right now. The existence of Israel is a very big problem for the nation of Iran right now. The remnant more or less means the existence of Israel. That seems to be a problem for many nations around the world. Especially the one we are engaged with right now. That being Iran. Then we have the historical connection between the Medes and Persians ruling from Babylon.

So one question that might come up is who is this king of Babylon? Many of us who read the scripture a lot tend to think of one individual. That individual being Nebuchadnezzar. That could be one avenue of natural fulfillment. Then there is also the probability of a spiritual king of Babylon. As a matter of fact the prophecy points this out as it progresses.

You see in the same way Satan does not want Israel to exist worse than any entity. It’s just in this day and age the Devil has incorporated a lot of beliefs.

Isa 14:7-8  The whole earth is at rest, and is quiet: they break forth into singing.  (8)  Yea, the fir trees rejoice at thee, and the cedars of Lebanon, saying, Since thou art laid down, no feller is come up against us.

As is common practice throughout history conquered nations were usually stripped of their natural resources. The fact that ABBA Father is announcing the end to the Babylon causes the earth to rest. That rest being felt right down into creation itself.

As we have explored before the prophecy starts to take us in a direction that seems much farther out than the Babylonian empire times.

Isa 14:9-11  HellH7585from beneath is movedH7264for thee to meet thee at thy coming: it stirrethH5782up the dead for thee, even all the chief onesH6260of the earth; it hath raised up from their thrones all the kings of the nations.  (10)  All they shall speak and say unto thee, Art thou also become weak as we? art thou become like unto us?  (11)  Thy pomp is brought down to the grave, and the noise of thy viols: the worm is spread under thee, and the worms cover thee.

HellH7585from beneath is movedH7264for thee to meet thee at thy coming: it stirreth upH5782 the dead for thee, even all the chief onesH6260of the earth; it hath raised up from their thrones all the kings of the nations.

The feeling that these word studies present to us is one of darkness for lack of better words.

HellH7585
שְׁאֹל שְׁאוֹל

Oor A primitive root (rather identical with H5783 through the idea of opening the eyes); to wake (literally or figuratively): - (a-) wake (-n, up), lift up (self), X master, raise (up), stir up (self).  Total KJV occurrences: 80

the chief onesH6260
עַתֻּד    עַתּוּד
‛attûd    ‛attûd
at-tood', at-tood'  From H6257; prepared, that is, full grown; spoken only (in plural) of he goats, or (figuratively) leaders of the people: - chief one, (he) goat, ram.  Total KJV occurrences: 29

This last one is a very interesting one indeed. Notice the reference to the “he goats“. There is the connection to the worship of Israel in making offerings.

Lev 4:22-26  When a ruler hath sinned, and done somewhat through ignorance against any of the commandments of the LORD his God concerning things which should not be done, and is guilty;  (23)  Or if his sin, wherein he hath sinned, come to his knowledge; he shall bring his offering, a kid of the goats, a male without blemish:  (24)  And he shall lay his hand upon the head of the goat, and kill it in the place where they kill the burnt offering before the LORD: it is a sin offering.  (25)  And the priest shall take of the blood of the sin offering with his finger, and put it upon the horns of the altar of burnt offering, and shall pour out his blood at the bottom of the altar of burnt offering.  (26)  And he shall burn all his fat upon the altar, as the fat of the sacrifice of peace offerings: and the priest shall make an atonement for him as concerning his sin, and it shall be forgiven him.

We see that there was a goat offered when it was being presented by a ruler or leader of some sort. Then as we read here in Isaiah those leaders found to be working with the spiritual king of Babylon will be there to greet him when his time finally comes. We have some interesting prophecy from Jeremiah as well that applies to the destruction of Babylon. Some of his insight to the fall is found in chapter 50.

Jer 50:31-38  Behold, I am against thee, O thou most proud, saith the Lord GOD of hosts: for thy day is come, the time that I will visit thee.  (32)  And the most proud shall stumble and fall, and none shall raise him up: and I will kindle a fire in his cities, and it shall devour all round about him.  (33)  Thus saith the LORD of hosts; The children of Israel and the children of Judah were oppressed together: and all that took them captives held them fast; they refused to let them go.  (34)  Their Redeemer is strong; the LORD of hosts is his name: he shall throughly plead their cause, that he may give rest to the land, and disquiet the inhabitants of Babylon.  (35)  A sword is upon the Chaldeans, saith the LORD, and upon the inhabitants of Babylon, and upon her princes, and upon her wise men.  (36)  A sword is upon the liars; and they shall dote: a sword is upon her mighty men; and they shall be dismayed.  (37)  A sword is upon their horses, and upon their chariots, and upon all the mingled people that are in the midst of her; and they shall become as women: a sword is upon her treasures; and they shall be robbed.  (38)  A drought is upon her waters; and they shall be dried up: for it is the land of graven images, and they are mad upon their idols.

Judgment on Babylon

Jer 50:39-42  Therefore the wild beasts of the desert with the wild beasts of the islands shall dwell there, and the owls shall dwell therein: and it shall be no more inhabited for ever; neither shall it be dwelt in from generation to generation.  (40)  As God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah and the neighbour cities thereof, saith the LORD; so shall no man abide there, neither shall any son of man dwell therein.  (41)  Behold, a people shall come from the north, and a great nation, and many kings shall be raised up from the coasts of the earth.  (42)  They shall hold the bow and the lance: they are cruel, and will not shew mercy: their voice shall roar like the sea, and they shall ride upon horses, every one put in array, like a man to the battle, against thee, O daughter of Babylon.

Jer 50:43-46  The king of Babylon hath heard the report of them, and his hands waxed feeble: anguish took hold of him, and pangs as of a woman in travail.  (44)  Behold, he shall come up like a lion from the swelling of Jordan unto the habitation of the strong: but I will make them suddenly run away from her: and who is a chosen man, that I may appoint over her? for who is like me? and who will appoint me the time? and who is that shepherd that will stand before me?  (45)  Therefore hear ye the counsel of the LORD, that he hath taken against Babylon; and his purposes, that he hath purposed against the land of the Chaldeans: Surely the least of the flock shall draw them out: surely he shall make their habitation desolate with them.  (46)  At the noise of the taking of Babylon the earth is moved, and the cry is heard among the nations.

Jer 50:40  As God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah and the neighbour cities thereof, saith the LORD; so shall no man abide there, neither shall any son of man dwell therein.

If we remember correctly the destruction in Isaiah 13 was also described as compared Sodom and Gomorrah.

Isa 13:17-22  Behold, I will stir up the Medes against them, which shall not regard silver; and as for gold, they shall not delight in it.  (18)  Their bows also shall dash the young men to pieces; and they shall have no pity on the fruit of the womb; their eye shall not spare children.  (19)  And Babylon, the glory of kingdoms, the beauty of the Chaldees' excellency, shall be as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah.

The reason this comparison is important is because Babylon has not been destroyed in this kind of way. Also once again we are seeing that dual quality to Isaiah’s prophecies.  We do of course see the destruction by the Medes and Persians. We also must remember the Medes  and Persians ruled from Babylon. Therefore they could not have destroyed the kingdom in the way ABBA Father is describing here like Sodom and Gomorrah.

Isa 14:10-11  All they shall speak and say unto thee, Art thou also become weak as we? art thou become like unto us?  (11)  Thy pomp is brought down to the grave, and the noise of thy viols: the worm is spread under thee, and the worms cover thee.

The “he goats “ as they are described join in the taunting of the enemy as hell starts to swallow him.

Isa 14:12-15  How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!  (13)  For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:  (14)  I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.  (15)  Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.

AMEN!! Friends. This passage in case you were still questioning the spiritual identity of the king of Babylon solves the question. Let’s stop and consider a few things about the enemy.

The number 1 goal of our enemy Satan is not so much to destroy us at first as he is wanting to be worshiped as a slap in the face to ABBA Father which He could care less about but as humans we are the battleground.

The Return of the Seventy-Two

Luk 10:17-20  And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.  (18)  And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.  (19)  Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.  (20)  Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.

The Fall

Gen 3:1-5  Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?  (2)  And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:  (3)  But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.  (4)  And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:  (5)  For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

A simple thought to all this would be by disobeying ABBA Father and obeying the serpent the worship angle was completed. As we mentioned above the enemy does not seem to want to destroy us until he has accomplished this.

In the book of Ezekiel there are a couple of passages that are very similar in nature to Isaiah 14. They are about the ancient city of Tyre. The passage tell us about the natural king of Tyre in addition to a spiritual king of Tyre.

A Lament over the King of Tyre

Eze 28:11-15  Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,  (12)  Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus, and say unto him, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty.  (13)  Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.  (14)  Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.  (15)  Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.

Eze 28:16-19  By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire.  (17)  Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee.  (18)  Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee.  (19)  All they that know thee among the people shall be astonished at thee: thou shalt be a terror, and never shalt thou be any more.

Notice this passage stresses that it was the commerce that causes the violence. We will not develop this passage at this time. Maybe Lord Yeshua willing we will do a chapter by chapter in Ezekiel. Remember we do have detailed studies on chapters 38 and 39. We believe they were done between 2015-2016. Forgive us if we are off a little bit. Our reason for exploring this passage today is to provide more detail about this spiritual king of Babylon. Ezekiel also tells us that this spiritual king of Tyre was found in the garden of Eden.

Now Friends we must understand that we are once again dealing with end time events. The judgment on Satan has not taken place in the prophetic context of what Isaiah is telling us. We have to remember that Satan will not be bound and  cast into the pit until almost the very end of the events of Revelation.

The Man of Lawlessness

2Th 2:1-6  Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,  (2)  That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.  (3)  Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;  (4)  Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.  (5)  Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?  (6)  And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.

The Defeat of Satan

Rev 20:7-10  And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,  (8)  And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.  (9)  And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.  (10)  And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

Isa 14:16-19  They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms;  (17)  That made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; that opened not the house of his prisoners?  (18)  All the kings of the nations, even all of them, lie in glory, every one in his own house.  (19)  But thou art cast out of thy grave like an abominable branch, and as the raiment of those that are slain, thrust through with a sword, that go down to the stones of the pit; as a carcase trodden under feet.

God Who Judges the Earth

Psa 58:1-11  To the chief Musician, Altaschith, Michtam of David. Do ye indeed speak righteousness, O congregation? do ye judge uprightly, O ye sons of men?  (2)  Yea, in heart ye work wickedness; ye weigh the violence of your hands in the earth.  (3)  The wicked are estranged from the womb: they go astray as soon as they be born, speaking lies.  (4)  Their poison is like the poison of a serpent: they are like the deaf adder that stoppeth her ear;  (5)  Which will not hearken to the voice of charmers, charming never so wisely.  (6)  Break their teeth, O God, in their mouth: break out the great teeth of the young lions, O LORD.  (7)  Let them melt away as waters which run continually: when he bendeth his bow to shoot his arrows, let them be as cut in pieces.  (8)  As a snail which melteth, let every one of them pass away: like the untimely birth of a woman, that they may not see the sun.  (9)  Before your pots can feel the thorns, he shall take them away as with a whirlwind, both living, and in his wrath.  (10)  The righteous shall rejoice when he seeth the vengeance: he shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked.  (11)  So that a man shall say, Verily there is a reward for the righteous: verily he is a God that judgeth in the earth.

The Steadfast Love of God Endures

Psa 52:1-9  To the chief Musician, Maschil, A Psalm of David, when Doeg the Edomite came and told Saul, and said unto him, David is come to the house of Ahimelech. Why boastest thou thyself in mischief, O mighty man? the goodness of God endureth continually.  (2)  Thy tongue deviseth mischiefs; like a sharp razor, working deceitfully.  (3)  Thou lovest evil more than good; and lying rather than to speak righteousness. Selah.  (4)  Thou lovest all devouring words, O thou deceitful tongue.  (5)  God shall likewise destroy thee for ever, he shall take thee away, and pluck thee out of thy dwelling place, and root thee out of the land of the living. Selah.  (6)  The righteous also shall see, and fear, and shall laugh at him:  (7)  Lo, this is the man that made not God his strength; but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himself in his wickedness.  (8)  But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God: I trust in the mercy of God for ever and ever.  (9)  I will praise thee for ever, because thou hast done it: and I will wait on thy name; for it is good before thy saints.

We would like at this time to turn our focus to how this information ties into our NT world. Just as the prophecy here in Isaiah 14 prophesies deliverance for the Hebrew people in the time of Babylon’s rule. There is a NT concept to the same form of deliverance on our individual levels. Those of us whom all we can say faced the captivity of sin. We have the same form of deliverance by accepting what Lord Yeshua did for us at the cross.

The Resurrection

Mat 28:1-6  In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre.  (2)  And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it.  (3)  His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow:  (4)  And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men.  (5)  And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified.  (6)  He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.

2Co 5:19-21  To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.  (20)  Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.  (21)  For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

Unity in the Body of Christ

Eph 4:1-10  I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,  (2)  With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;  (3)  Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.  (4)  There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;  (5)  One Lord, one faith, one baptism,  (6)  One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.  (7)  But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.  (8)  Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.  (9)  (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth?  (10)  He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)

2Ti 2:19-26  Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.  (20)  But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.  (21)  If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.  (22)  Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.  (23)  But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes.  (24)  And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,  (25)  In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;  (26)  And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.

Just as Israel faced captivity on more than occasion folks in our world today should take heed of our captivity to sin. Of course realizing there is no other way out than Lord Yeshua Himself.

Isa 14:20-23  Thou shalt not be joined with them in burial, because thou hast destroyed thy land, and slain thy people: the seed of evildoers shall never be renowned.  (21)  Prepare slaughter for his children for the iniquity of their fathers; that they do not rise, nor possess the land, nor fill the face of the world with cities.  (22)  For I will rise up against them, saith the LORD of hosts, and cut off from Babylon the name, and remnant, and son, and nephew, saith the LORD.  (23)  I will also make it a possession for the bittern, and pools of water: and I will sweep it with the besom of destruction, saith the LORD of hosts.

Psa 21:8-11  Thine hand shall find out all thine enemies: thy right hand shall find out those that hate thee.  (9)  Thou shalt make them as a fiery oven in the time of thine anger: the LORD shall swallow them up in his wrath, and the fire shall devour them.  (10)  Their fruit shalt thou destroy from the earth, and their seed from among the children of men.  (11)  For they intended evil against thee: they imagined a mischievous device, which they are not able to perform.

Jesus Before Caiaphas and the Council

Mat 26:59-64  Now the chief priests, and elders, and all the council, sought false witness against Jesus, to put him to death;  (60)  But found none: yea, though many false witnesses came, yet found they none. At the last came two false witnesses,  (61)  And said, This fellow said, I am able to destroy the temple of God, and to build it in three days.  (62)  And the high priest arose, and said unto him, Answerest thou nothing? what is it which these witness against thee?  (63)  But Jesus held his peace. And the high priest answered and said unto him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou be the Christ, the Son of God.  (64)  Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.

The Final Judgment

Mat 25:31-36  When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:  (32)  And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:  (33)  And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.  (34)  Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:  (35)  For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:  (36)  Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.

Mat 25:37-41  Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?  (38)  When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?  (39)  Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?  (40)  And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.  (41)  Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

Here we have a connection to the earlier parts of our study. The leaders that back the evil were defined as he goats. We also have another connection to Satan with the goats themselves.

For those not familiar this is known as a baphomet. An ancient symbol that is associated with most Satan worship in our day and age. We will not elaborate on this. We would however as we normally would at this time remind the world of the following.

Woe to Unrepentant Cities

Mat 11:20-24  Then began he to upbraid the cities wherein most of his mighty works were done, because they repented not:  (21)  Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works, which were done in you, had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.  (22)  But I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the day of judgment, than for you.  (23)  And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted unto heaven, shalt be brought down to hell: for if the mighty works, which have been done in thee, had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day.  (24)  But I say unto you, That it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment, than for thee.

Come to Me, and I Will Give You Rest

Mat 11:25-30  At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes.  (26)  Even so, Father: for so it seemed good in thy sight.  (27)  All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.  (28)  Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.  (29)  Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.  (30)  For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Not Peace, but a Sword

Mat 10:34-39  Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.  (35)  For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.  (36)  And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.  (37)  He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.  (38)  And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.  (39)  He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.

Wait for the God of Salvation

Mic 7:1-7  Woe is me! for I am as when they have gathered the summer fruits, as the grapegleanings of the vintage: there is no cluster to eat: my soul desired the firstripe fruit.  (2)  The good man is perished out of the earth: and there is none upright among men: they all lie in wait for blood; they hunt every man his brother with a net.  (3)  That they may do evil with both hands earnestly, the prince asketh, and the judge asketh for a reward; and the great man, he uttereth his mischievous desire: so they wrap it up.  (4)  The best of them is as a brier: the most upright is sharper than a thorn hedge: the day of thy watchmen and thy visitation cometh; now shall be their perplexity.  (5)  Trust ye not in a friend, put ye not confidence in a guide: keep the doors of thy mouth from her that lieth in thy bosom.  (6)  For the son dishonoureth the father, the daughter riseth up against her mother, the daughter in law against her mother in law; a man's enemies are the men of his own house.  (7)  Therefore I will look unto the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me.
