Welcome to the World of Biblical Prophecy for History and Today

This Blog is intended to help myself and others gain the best understanding of the world around us through exploration of prophetic scripture. The Bible is the text book. Through these studies we will hopefully provide understanding to both believer and unbeliever alike. The way our God and our Savior Jesus distinguish themselves in the spiritual world is through prophetic means. In other words what the Bible teaches us through fullfillment of these prophecies shows us the truth. Let's take some prophetic journeys through history and at the same time learn about the world around us today. Please try and be patient with any typographical errors as I am my own typist and my own research staff. Thanks

Introduction:Sounding Alarms and Hearing Warnings

Matthew 24:32-46 KJV
(32)Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:
(33)So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.
(34)Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.
(35)Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.
(36)But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
(37)But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
38)For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,
(39)And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
(40)Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
(41)Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
(42)WatchG1127 therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.
(43)But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched,G1127 G302 and would not have suffered his house to be broken up.
(44)Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.
(45)Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season?
(46)Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.

Matthew 25:1-13 KJV
(1)Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.
(2)And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.
(3)They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:
(4)But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.
(5)While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.
(6)And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.
(7)Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.
(8)And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.
(9)But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.
(10)And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.
(11)Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.
(12)But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.
(13)WatchG1127 therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.

Mark 13:28-37 KJV
(28)Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When her branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is near:
(29)So ye in like manner, when ye shall see these things come to pass, know that it is nigh, even at the doors.
(30)Verily I say unto you, that this generation shall not pass, till all these things be done.
(31)Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.
(32)But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.
(33)Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.
(34)For the Son of man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watchG1127.
(35)WatchG1127 ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning:
(36)Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping.
(37)And what I say unto you I say unto all, WatchG1127.

Luke 21:29-38 KJV
(29)And he spake to them a parable; Behold the fig tree, and all the trees;
(30)When they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand.
(31)So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand.
(32)Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled.
(33)Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.
(34)And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.
(35)For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.
(36)WatchG69 ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.
(37)And in the day time he was teaching in the temple; and at night he went out, and abode in the mount that is called the mount of Olives.
(38)And all the people came early in the morning to him in the temple, for to hear him.

Ezekiel 3:14-21 KJV
(14)So the spirit lifted me up, and took me away, and I went in bitterness, in the heat of my spirit; but the hand of the LORD was strong upon me.
(15)Then I came to them of the captivity at Telabib, that dwelt by the river of Chebar, and I sat where they sat, and remained there astonished among them seven days.
(16)And it came to pass at the end of seven days, that the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
(17)Son of man, I have made thee a watchmanH6822 unto the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me.
(18)When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.
(19)Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.(20)Again, When a righteous man doth turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumblingblock before him, he shall die: because thou hast not given him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he hath done shall not be remembered; but his blood will I require at thine hand.
(21)Nevertheless if thou warn the righteous man, that the righteous sin not, and he doth not sin, he shall surely live, because he is warned; also thou hast delivered thy soul.
Ezekiel 33:1-10 KJV
(1)Again the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
(2)Son of man, speak to the children of thy people, and say unto them, When I bring the sword upon a land, if the people of the land take a man of their coasts, and set him for their watchman:
(3)If when he seeth the sword come upon the land, he blow the trumpet, and warn the people;
(4)Then whosoever heareth the sound of the trumpet, and taketh not warning; if the sword come, and take him away, his blood shall be upon his own head.(5)He heard the sound of the trumpet, and took not warning; his blood shall be upon him. But he that taketh warning shall deliver his soul.
(6)But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman's hand.
(7)So thou, O son of man, I have set thee a watchmanH6822 unto the house of Israel; therefore thou shalt hear the word at my mouth, and warn them from me.
(8)When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt surely die; if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.
(9)Nevertheless, if thou warn the wicked of his way to turn from it; if he do not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.(10)Therefore, O thou son of man, speak unto the house of Israel; Thus ye speak, saying, If our transgressions and our sins be upon us, and we pine away in them, how should we then live?

Well friends here we are. Things have happened so fast that it makes one’s head spin a little. The problem being the words only come out of my fingers so fast. However we must take careful measures and stay focused on Jesus and through doing this remaining level headed and calm. In order to hopefully demonstrate clearly the matters involved in the warnings of Jesus to the world where else? In the signs of the end of the age and God’s address to Ezekiel which serves as an example of how we should go about these tasks. In the course of this set of studies we will be applying the act Jesus highly encourages to. This of course is to watch for things that God would have us to know. We explored many historical facts in the role reversals of the nations studies pertaining to the lesson or parable of the fig tree. We will not spend much time on that subject specifically in this series. However we will be exploring many of the issues biblical prophecy foretells us with regard to the birthing pains of the world after the restoration of Israel as a nation. We will start our journey in the NT with the words of Jesus and how we can follow His directive to be both watching and watchful. Once we study this out we will do some breakdowns in the prophets that also demonstrate to us what we are watching for and how we are supposed to communicate these alarms and warnings both to and from ourselves. With this being said let’ start this journey through the word studies we have highlighted.

Matthew 24:42-43 KJV
(42)WatchG1127 therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.
(43)But know this, that if the goodman of the houseG3617 had known in what watchG5438 the thief would come, he would have watchedG1127 G302, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up.

Luke 21:36 KJV
(36)WatchG69ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

The word watch appears in the NT 30 times in 29 verses. Jesus Himself speaks the word 17 times out of the 30 including one quotation from the book of Revelation . The word has 2 meanings. One being a period of time which the days are divide into. This is not the word we will explore in detail but we will demonstrate the proper differences in Greek word study of what we are exploring.
The word also appears in the form watchful in one verse of the NT and oddly enough in the book of Revelation.

Rev 3:1-6 KJV
(1)And unto the angel of the church in Sardis write; These things saith he that hath the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars; I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead.
(2)Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God.
(3)Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.
(4)Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy.
(5)He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.
(6)He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

The reason for choosing this particular word for demonstration is because there are certain types of individuals in this world. These individuals are known as skeptics to some. To others they may be considered severely misread or taught when it comes to scriptures. Then of course there are some who might take verses like these and just flat out confuse someone they know is vulnerable. The word watch generally speaking signifies 2 things in the Bible. A certain period of time reflected in a standard day and the word which we are highlighting indicating a vigilant watch on the things we see going on in the world around us. This is easily done by simply looking at 1 of the great miracles or acts of omnipotent control of the elements by Jesus. This would be the infamous act of walking on the water.

Matthew 14:22-29 KJV
(22)And straightway Jesus constrained his disciples to get into a ship, and to go before him unto the other side, while he sent the multitudes away.
(23)And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone.
(24)But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary.
(25)And in the fourth watchG5438of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea.
(26)And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear.
(27)But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.

(28)And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water.
(29)And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.

Mark 6:47-50 KJV
(47)And when even was come, the ship was in the midst of the sea, and he alone on the land.
(48)And he saw them toiling in rowing; for the wind was contrary unto them: and about the fourth watch G5438of the night he cometh unto them, walking upon the sea, and would have passed by them.
(49)But when they saw him walking upon the sea, they supposed it had been a spirit, and cried out:
(50)For they all saw him, and were troubled. And immediately he talked with them, and saith unto them, Be of good cheer: it is I; be not afraid.

Now we can explore the word we are most immediately concerned with. With a recent addition to our sword project arsenal we can expand the word studies one more level.

Please allow one more moment to check a Webster’s definition of the word faculties mentioned above.

FAC'ULTY, n. [L. facultas, from facio, to make.]

1. That power of the mind or intellect which enables it to receive, revive or modify perceptions; as the faculty of seeing, of hearing, of imagining, of remembering, &c.: or in general, the faculties may be called the powers or capacities of the mind.

2. The power of doing any thing; ability. There is no faculty or power in creatures, which can rightly perform its functions, without the perpetual aid of the Supreme Being.

If we consider the pictures the words paint for us a picture of changes we make in our ways of seeing the world and knowing what to do with this information. In the course of these things we begin to maybe not so much to only notice but actually care about certain things or shall we say the world in a whole new light and analysis. Praise the Lord. There are also passages that guide us along in these endeavors as well and most of them clearly spell out we are to share this information not so much different from what the word studies teach us.

Joh 3:1-21 KJV
(1)There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:
(2)The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.
(3)Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
(4)Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?
(5)Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
(6)That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
(7)Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
(8)The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.
(9)Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be?
(10)Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things?
(11)Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness.
(12)If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?
(13)And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.
(14)And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
(15)That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
(16)For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
(17)For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
(18)He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
(19)And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
(20)For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
(21)But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

1 Peter 1:13-25 KJV
(13)Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;
(14)As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:
(15)But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;
(16)Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.
(17)And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man's work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear:(18)Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;
(19)But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:
(20)Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you,
(21)Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.
(22)Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:
(23)Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.
(24)For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away:
(25)But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.

Rom 12:1-9 KJV
(1)I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
(2)And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
(3)For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.
(4)For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office:
(5)So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.
(6)Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith;
(7)Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching;
(8)Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.
(9)Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.

Well now we have looked into what we are expected to do somewhat we can go about exploring how with our example from the OT. The call of God to Ezekiel to become a watchman.

Eze 3:17-21 KJV
(17)Son of man, I have made thee a watchmanH6822 unto the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me.
(18)When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.
(19)Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.
(20)Again, When a righteous man doth turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumblingblock before him, he shall die: because thou hast not given him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he hath done shall not be remembered; but his blood will I require at thine hand.
(21)Nevertheless if thou warn the righteous man, that the righteous sin not, and he doth not sin, he shall surely live, because he is warned; also thou hast delivered thy soul.

Eze 33:1-9 KJV
(1)Again the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
(2)Son of man, speak to the children of thy people, and say unto them, When I bring the sword upon a land, if the people of the land take a man of their coasts, and set him for their watchman:
(3)If when he seeth the sword come upon the land, he blow the trumpet, and warn the people;
(4)Then whosoever heareth the sound of the trumpet, and taketh not warning; if the sword come, and take him away, his blood shall be upon his own head.
(5)He heard the sound of the trumpet, and took not warning; his blood shall be upon him. But he that taketh warning shall deliver his soul.
(6)But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman's hand.
(7)So thou, O son of man, I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore thou shalt hear the word at my mouth, and warn them from me.
(8)When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt surely die; if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.
(9)Nevertheless, if thou warn the wicked of his way to turn from it; if he do not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.

Here in Ezekiel we have one example or should we say a couple of what the role of God's watchman is. The spiritual essence involved as always will be witnessed in word study.

The role of a watchman is to keep watch on things of spiritual consequence from a distance. The word study perhaps demonstrates a more spiritually balanced approach by using the description to peer into the distance. As believers in the Christian faith we understand that the true knowledge of God in such regard is found no where else except the Holy Bible. This is exactly where we will turn to as always to obtain the understanding of things we watch for in prophecy.

The words from both testaments displayed here seem to be mirror images of each other. Why not? God gave the directives to both Jesus and Ezekiel. The Hebrew word study demonstrates one method we can employ to complete our tasks with the Lord. Let's take just a moment or two and consider a couple of things. God through His Son Jesus commands us to watch for things coming in the future. The first and most important of these events is His coming. In the course of awaiting His glorious return we are told what we can watch for. However without proper word study (in my humble opinion) we can certainly miss the message. The fact that Jesus our Lord and Savior is returning is not a new concept to those who are firm in their faith. However once again those who enjoy trying to push our buttons for answers will ask:

2 Peter 3:1-4
(1)This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance:
(2)That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour:
(3)Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
(4)And saying, Where is the promiseG1860 of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
