In all considerations it appears that the 2 saints described in chapter 8 become the “other two” in chapter 12. There would be confirmation of the word studies we put forth on the subject of what these individuals are. In other words Paul who certainly did not put angels into prison uses the word saints to describe people as in mortal men. With everything we have seen Daniel tell us about the end of the age criteria it's a guaranteed bet Daniel knows the difference as well. The above definition is taken from the King James Dictionary.
We have explored here in Daniel how he is given a prophecy which paints us a picture of the antichrist we know historically as Antioch Epiphanes. We also know that Daniel left us information about the coming antichrist. However we are not through covering the verses just yet. Please take notice the question put forth by the one witness to Jesus. It involves the amount of time that the answer to the question puts forth.

One of the controversies(for lack of a better word) surrounding the 2 witnesses is who they actually are. This is an undertaking we will explore in further detail in an upcoming study not too far away. We can put forth this information. There are only 2 mortal men who were taken alive into heaven not to return. These would be the 7th son in Adam's genealogy Enoch and the prophet Elijah. Please note that it is mentioned these are the only 2 to see heaven without returning. Some have also suggested that they would be Moses and Elijah. We can consider this in a future study as to who they may be and their specific roles regarding the book of Revelation.
The last thing we will look at for now in this chapter is the raising of the arms by Jesus toward heaven. Why is this important some might ask? The word studies involved here once again paint the picture.

If we look carefully at these words we see that not only are the actions of the arms evident but there is also some association with the directions of north and south. So right about now some are still probably asking what about that? Earlier we demonstrated how the 2 witnesses on each bank of the Tigris river in a symbolic way represent east and west facing each other. Here in these word studies we reference how the actions of Jesus have a symbolic reference to north and south. Well here we go one more time in our look at these verses.

In our prophetic journey through chapter 12 of Daniel each verse has given us a small piece of a big picture. Although we may cover more than a verse in this study we will be no less informed of future events both from the time of Daniel and our world today. This was not the original beginning chosen for this study. However as consideration of verse 5 unfolded these are some of the passages that came forth. The 2 described on each side of the river bank are very interesting figures indeed. In Hebrew word study of the verse we can get a little bit more clarity of who these individuals are. After having acquired a couple of new toys to help with word studies we can now detail the Hebrew spelling of our words in order to define genders and tenses and so forth.

Please notice the 2 verses state that there are 2 men specifically. So right about now you are probably saying to yourself well what is the big deal brother Al? Well it seems that when we are dealing with visions or apparitions involving angels we have a different description with definite distinctions from describing a man. For example another portion of Daniel which we have looked into provides the following description.

(13) I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him.
(14) And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.
This is a description associated to Jesus.
This was a vision of the Messiah in the kingdom of God. We also observe the capitalizing of the word Son just as we do in the NT describing Jesus as the Son of God. Please notice the title by which the demons Jesus drives out of the possessed man address Him by.

(30) And there was a good way off from them an herd of many swine feeding.

In another vision we have explored in the book of Daniel we have this reference made by Gabriel to Daniel as a son of man without upper case lettering. So we obviously can see a difference between the Son of God and a son of man. In the next example Daniel makes a distinctive reference to the angel sent by God to deliver him.

You can form your own opinion about what is being stated within these passages. As far as this preacher is concerned Daniel is specifically referring to 2 men as opposed to angels in this case. Now you are once again thinking OK brother Al what does this have to do with anything? Well if you are asking here is an answer. We opened up this study with a passage from Revelation 11 concerning 2 witnesses that God will have appear on the temple mount when He sees fit. We have briefly explored the subject in other studies that there are at least 2 witnesses needed to confirm a matter to be established. Daniel as we have explored throughout has had a lot of serious matters concerning the future especially in this last entire half of his book.

As with all the other verses of this chapter to this point there are end time aspects connected to the book of Revelation. In this case we have 2 men described by Daniel on each side of a river which represented the boundary between east and west facing each other. Since we have studied into the fact that the world likes to call portions of Israel's biblical deed the west bank try this on for size. The world we live in today is often characterized in terms such as the western and eastern world. Well here in Daniel we have these 2 directions represented in a prophecy that is delivered to Daniel concerning the end of the age for the entire world. As we have explored also we have God's required amount of witnesses establishing the matter just as both testaments of the bible put forth. It is perhaps of most importance that Jesus also leaves us with this message. In order to hopefully better clarify the situation let's add verses 6 and 7 into the equation.

Now we have the mention of a man clothed in linen in the vision. The question now becomes who would this man be. The word man appears 25 times in 22 verses of the book of Daniel. However as we have explored before word study reveals more about the subject in biblical Hebrew. In the book of Daniel there are different words used to describe the word man. At least 7 different Hebrew words are used for the word “man”. The one which is used in our passage is the following and is also found in 4 other locations in the book of Daniel. This is how this preacher addresses this subject. However it's only fair to mention that the reader has the final decision in the matter as even many well known commentaries have disagreement among them. We can only study this with what information is available.

In the days of Aaron the tradition of the entrance to the holy place where the mercy seat of God was located and the sprinkling of blood was performed to cleanse and sanctify the sins of his house as well as the people. In the case of Jesus He had risen from the dead and had attained His position of High priest and King and was to ascend into heaven to the throne of God and present His blood for the atonement of the entire world that would receive His sacrifice. This is most likely why Mary Magdalene did not recognize Jesus as He was adorned in His new garments. Jesus had not performed the offering of His blood before God as He states He has not ascended to the Father. It was not permitted for the priest to touch anything when performing the atonement to prevent being defiled in the presence of the Lord.
Now when we go back to the definition of the word contracted we can get a much better spiritual connection to who the man in linen is. The church is often described as the bride of Christ. This would mean that Jesus is the bridegroom.

Rev 19:5-9 KJV

Another link between Daniel 12:5-7 and the end of the age is in the question asked of Jesus by one of the 2 men on the river banks. The answer and the corresponding word study from verse 7 prove very interesting indeed when we consider the relationship to both the other passages from Daniel and their connections to Revelation.

(6) And one said to the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, How long shall it be to the end of these wonders?
(7) And I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever that it shall be for a time, times, and an half; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished.
First let's consider things we have already studied in the book of Daniel.
Dan 8:13 KJV
(13) Then I heard one saint speaking, and another saint קדושׁH6918said unto that certain saint which spake, How long shall be the vision concerning the daily sacrifice, and the transgression of desolation, to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trodden under foot?
Now in the course of this verse we have 2 different individuals described as saints. We also have one of these asking how long this transgression concerning the stoppage of the daily sacrifice would last.

Saints
Men and women of God.
I verily thought with myself, that I ought to do many things contrary to the name of Jesus of Nazareth. Which thing I also did in Jerusalem: and many of the SAINTS did I shut up in prison, having received authority from the chief priests; and when they were put to death, I gave my voice against them. (Act_26:9-10)
In all considerations it appears that the 2 saints described in chapter 8 become the “other two” in chapter 12. There would be confirmation of the word studies we put forth on the subject of what these individuals are. In other words Paul who certainly did not put angels into prison uses the word saints to describe people as in mortal men. With everything we have seen Daniel tell us about the end of the age criteria it's a guaranteed bet Daniel knows the difference as well. The above definition is taken from the King James Dictionary.
We have explored here in Daniel how he is given a prophecy which paints us a picture of the antichrist we know historically as Antioch Epiphanes. We also know that Daniel left us information about the coming antichrist. However we are not through covering the verses just yet. Please take notice the question put forth by the one witness to Jesus. It involves the amount of time that the answer to the question puts forth.

Dan 9:27 KJV
(27) And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.
Rev 11:1-4 KJV
(1) And there was given me a reed like unto a rod: and the angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein.
(2) But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months.
(3) And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.
(4) These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth.
The last thing we will look at for now in this chapter is the raising of the arms by Jesus toward heaven. Why is this important some might ask? The word studies involved here once again paint the picture.

If we look carefully at these words we see that not only are the actions of the arms evident but there is also some association with the directions of north and south. So right about now some are still probably asking what about that? Earlier we demonstrated how the 2 witnesses on each bank of the Tigris river in a symbolic way represent east and west facing each other. Here in these word studies we reference how the actions of Jesus have a symbolic reference to north and south. Well here we go one more time in our look at these verses.

(1) And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree.
