Welcome to the World of Biblical Prophecy for History and Today

This Blog is intended to help myself and others gain the best understanding of the world around us through exploration of prophetic scripture. The Bible is the text book. Through these studies we will hopefully provide understanding to both believer and unbeliever alike. The way our God and our Savior Jesus distinguish themselves in the spiritual world is through prophetic means. In other words what the Bible teaches us through fullfillment of these prophecies shows us the truth. Let's take some prophetic journeys through history and at the same time learn about the world around us today. Please try and be patient with any typographical errors as I am my own typist and my own research staff. Thanks

Daniel Extremity 12:8-10

Mat 13:10-17 KJV
(10) And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables?
(11) He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.
(12) For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath.
(13) Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.
(14) And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:
(15) For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
(16) But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.
(17) For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.

1Pe 1:3-12 KJV
(3) Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
(4) To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,
(5) Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
(6) Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations:
(7) That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:
(8) Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:
(9) Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.
(10) Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you:
(11) Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow.
(12) Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into.

In the context of these passages we discover that the prophets were given the history and reasoning concerning their respective forecasts.  In some prophecies they reveal the times to us by names that God provides such as some of the information we covered concerning Cyrus. We have considered the question and are always given the answer to why? Sometimes God reveals Himself in the form of where? So now we have covered questions and answers concerning who, what, where and even how in most cases. However there is always one unanswered question. That question being when. Jesus informs us that although perplexing at times this never shook the faith of the prophets  that held to the faith.

Act 1:1-8 KJV
(1) The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach,
(2) Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen:
(3) To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:
(4) And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.
(5) For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.
(6) When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?
(7) And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.
(8) But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Job 26:1-14 KJV
(1) But Job answered and said,
(2) How hast thou helped him that is without power? how savest thou the arm that hath no strength?
(3) How hast thou counselled him that hath no wisdom? and how hast thou plentifully declared the thing as it is?
(4) To whom hast thou uttered words? and whose spirit came from thee?
(5) Dead things are formed from under the waters, and the inhabitants thereof.
(6) Hell is naked before him, and destruction hath no covering.
(7) He stretcheth out the north over the empty place, and hangeth the earth upon nothing.
(8) He bindeth up the waters in his thick clouds; and the cloud is not rent under them.
(9) He holdeth back the face of his throne, and spreadeth his cloud upon it.
(10) He hath compassed the waters with bounds, until the day and night come to an end.
(11) The pillars of heaven tremble and are astonished at his reproof.
(12) He divideth the sea with his power, and by his understanding he smiteth through the proud.
(13) By his spirit he hath garnished the heavens; his hand hath formed the crooked serpent.
(14) Lo, these are parts of his ways: but how little a portion is heard of him? but the thunder of his power who can understand?

Psa 139:4-7 KJV
(4) For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, thou knowest it altogether.
(5) Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me.
(6) Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it.
(7) Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?

The word for the knowledge of God Daniel yearned for would be zeal.
Webster's dictionary

Zeal
ZEAL, n. [Gr., L.] Passionate ardor in the pursuit of any thing. In general, zeal is an eagerness of desire to accomplish or obtain some object, and it may be manifested either in favor of any person or thing, or in opposition to it, and in a good or bad cause.

Deu 29:25-29 KJV
(25) Then men shall say, Because they have forsaken the covenant of the LORD God of their fathers, which he made with them when he brought them forth out of the land of Egypt:
(26) For they went and served other gods, and worshipped them, gods whom they knew not, and whom he had not given unto them:
(27) And the anger of the LORD was kindled against this land, to bring upon it all the curses that are written in this book:
(28) And the LORD rooted them out of their land in anger, and in wrath, and in great indignation, and cast them into another land, as it is this day.
(29) The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.

Psa 25:10-14 KJV
(10) All the paths of the LORD are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.
(11) For thy name's sake, O LORD, pardon mine iniquity; for it is great.
(12) What man is he that feareth the LORD? him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose.
(13) His soul shall dwell at ease; and his seed shall inherit the earth.
(14) The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant.

Dan 12:8 KJV
(8) And I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my Lord, whatמהH4100 shall be the endאחריתH319 of these things?

Now in order to understand how Daniel felt at this point of his vision we must consider a couple of things. In gradual communication from God Daniel received the revelations of world powers and kingdoms that would rise in world history from his time forward. In addition he was given information concerning the Messiah and the antichrist. Just imagine having the forecasts of each and every topic we have connected to the book of Revelation except knowing when. The question that Daniel poses seems to be more along the lines of when will these be accomplished or fulfilled?

H319
אחרית
'achărı̂yth
akh-ar-eeth'
From H310; the last or end, hence the future; also posterity: - (last, latter) end (time), hinder (utter) -most, length, posterity, remnant, residue, reward.

H4100
מה מ־ מ־ מה מה
mâh mah mâ ma meh
maw, mah, maw, mah, meh
A primitive particle; properly interrogitive what? (including how?, why? and
hen?); but also exclamations like what! (including how!), or indefinitely what
including whatever, and even relatively that which); often used with prefixes in various adverbial or conjugational sneses: - how (long, oft, [-soever]), [no-] thing, what (end, good, purpose, thing), whereby (-fore, -in, -to, -with), (for) why.

In the progression of our studies chapter by chapter Daniel was well aware of what was being said to him. If not he could not have interpreted Nebuchadnezzar's dreams and visions. He also would have been bewildered at the explanations he received in his own dreams and visions. So now as with all of us today and even Jesus the only question unanswered becomes “when”?.
 Dan 12:9-10 KJV

(9) And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.
(10) Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.

Mat 24:36-39 KJV
(36) But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
(37) But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
(38) For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,
(39) And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

Mar 13:32-33 KJV
(32) But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.
(33) Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.

Luk 21:34-36 KJV
(34) And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.
(35) For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.
(36) Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

1Th 5:1-5 KJV
(1) But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.
(2) For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.
(3) For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
(4) But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.
(5) Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.

Daniel in this regard is shown almost everything that the world should understand from the realm of politics and religion. Many people consider both of these subjects as not to be mentioned in the same sentence including some Christians. Well there is good news about that old saying they both have everything to do with the global activities associated to the end of the age. We will not place all the blame upon upon these 2 because our actions as individuals also add to the fuel mixture for the fire. However we have an endless supply of flame retardant Jesus.

Isa 41:15-20 KJV
(15) Behold, I will make thee a new sharp threshing instrument having teeth: thou shalt thresh the mountains, and beat them small, and shalt make the hills as chaff.
(16) Thou shalt fan them, and the wind shall carry them away, and the whirlwind shall scatter them: and thou shalt rejoice in the LORD, and shalt glory in the Holy One of Israel.
(17) When the poor and needy seek water, and there is none, and their tongue faileth for thirst, I the LORD will hear them, I the God of Israel will not forsake them.
(18) I will open rivers in high places, and fountains in the midst of the valleys: I will make the wilderness a pool of water, and the dry land springs of water.
(19) I will plant in the wilderness the cedar, the shittah tree, and the myrtle, and the oil tree; I will set in the desert the fir tree, and the pine, and the box tree together:
(20) That they may see, and know, and consider, and understand together, that the hand of the LORD hath done this, and the Holy One of Israel hath created it.

These words as we have explored previously were closed and sealed until a certain point of biblical history. We have observed in an earlier look at the words “closed up” and “sealed” how in another book of the NT concerning the end of the age being Revelation John is told not to seal up the words of the prophecy.

Rev 22:7-13 KJV
(7) Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book.
(8) And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which shewed me these things.
(9) Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God.
(10) And he saith unto me, Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand.
(11) He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.
(12) And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.
(13) I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.

Psa 81:10-12 KJV
(10) I am the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt: open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it.
(11) But my people would not hearken to my voice; and Israel would none of me.
(12) So I gave them up unto their own hearts' lust: and they walked in their own counsels.

Please note the exact same reference to the wicked and the righteous and how these will persevere until the end comes. This is how it seems to play out all through our scriptural history. It was the same with the time of the flood.

Gen 6:5-8 KJV
(5) And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
(6) And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.
(7) And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.
(8) But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.

Gen 6:12-13 KJV
(12) And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.
(13) And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.

Gen 13:13-15 KJV
(13) But the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners before the LORD exceedingly.
(14) And the LORD said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward:
(15) For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever.

Gen 19:23-25 KJV
(23) The sun was risen upon the earth when Lot entered into Zoar.
(24) Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven;
(25) And he overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew upon the ground.

Mat 10:12-16 KJV
(12) And when ye come into an house, salute it.
(13) And if the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it: but if it be not worthy, let your peace return to you.
(14) And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet.
(15) Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.
(16) Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.

Eze 8:9-18 KJV
(9) And he said unto me, Go in, and behold the wicked abominations that they do here.
(10) So I went in and saw; and behold every form of creeping things, and abominable beasts, and all the idols of the house of Israel, pourtrayed upon the wall round about.
(11) And there stood before them seventy men of the ancients of the house of Israel, and in the midst of them stood Jaazaniah the son of Shaphan, with every man his censer in his hand; and a thick cloud of incense went up.
(12) Then said he unto me, Son of man, hast thou seen what the ancients of the house of Israel do in the dark, every man in the chambers of his imagery? for they say, The LORD seeth us not; the LORD hath forsaken the earth.
(13) He said also unto me, Turn thee yet again, and thou shalt see greater abominations that they do.
(14) Then he brought me to the door of the gate of the LORD'S house which was toward the north; and, behold, there sat women weeping for Tammuz.
(15) Then said he unto me, Hast thou seen this, O son of man? turn thee yet again, and thou shalt see greater abominations than these.
(16) And he brought me into the inner court of the LORD'S house, and, behold, at the door of the temple of the LORD, between the porch and the altar, were about five and twenty men, with their backs toward the temple of the LORD, and their faces toward the east; and they worshipped the sun toward the east.
(17) Then he said unto me, Hast thou seen this, O son of man? Is it a light thing to the house of Judah that they commit the abominations which they commit here? for they have filled the land with violence, and have returned to provoke me to anger: and, lo, they put the branch to their nose.
(18) Therefore will I also deal in fury: mine eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity: and though they cry in mine ears with a loud voice, yet will I not hear them.

Dan 12:10 KJV

(19) Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.
(20) For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
(21) Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
(22) Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
(23) And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.

Rom 1:24-25 KJV
(24) Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
(25) Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

As with all the passages we explore the entirety are recommended reading. If we took this one much further we would be in the process of starting another entire set of studies.

Rom 1:28 KJV
(28) And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

Rom 1:32 KJV
(32) Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

Dan 12:6-10 KJV
(6) And one said to the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, How long shall it be to the end of these wonders?
(7) And I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever that it shall be for a time, times, and an half; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished.
(8) And I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my Lord, what shall be the end of these things?
(9) And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.
(10) Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.

Pro 1:22-26 KJV
(22) How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge?
(23) Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you.
(24) Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded;
(25) But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof:
(26) I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh;

Jer 4:21-23 KJV
(21) How long shall I see the standard, and hear the sound of the trumpet?
(22) For my people is foolish, they have not known me; they are sottish children, and they have none understanding: they are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge.
(23) I beheld the earth, and, lo, it was without form, and void; and the heavens, and they had no light.

2Th 2:8-17 KJV
(8) And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:
(9) Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
(10) And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
(11) And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
(12) That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
(13) But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:
(14) Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
(15) Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle.
(16) Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace,
(17) Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.

Thanks for sharing a word
God Bless
